Cadburry. I have the above me mentioned caps but I still put a piece of coffee filter in there to catch debris or in my case stinkbugs.... I dunno how he got in there but I assure you he didnt like his head in my needle nose.

Got about three weeks worth of dirt off the bike. Tried the Zero headers fit nice mostly. Besides a crappy join near the pan. I think after talking to Crux and reading many posts I may go for link pipes for now but upgrade to a diy QD box type in the future. I may loose hp but it shouldnt matter once the rest of the motor is built. Bike has plenty of hp its just a bear to push!

I did find out I have been real sloppy with my feet. The boot over my brake switch was knocked off and There are rubber marks all over the place.
Taking the ..... Dihatsu today.....
Might as well get a soccer ball and slap a single mom sticker on this car.
Get this Dihatsu Tanto seats 5 cvt saves no gas but has a 3 cyl and comes with TV.... My mangina hurts everytime I drive it and a bike goes by.
Good news is the vtr may come off the road next month for some r and r.

After having them sitting on the shelf for the last 3+ years, finally installed tapered steering head bearings. Changed to Pro Honda ss7 5wt fork oil, from 7wt don't remember brand, while I was at it.
Really like the way the forks feel with the lighter oil. It's going to take some time to get used to not having notchy steering though. I really can't believe that I put up with it for so long.

Lol. Tapered rollers were one of the first mods I did to mine. Excellent feel after. If you can tell the difference between 7 & 7.5, you missed your calling.

More like the difference between 7wt to 5wt.

I didn't do much else except let my best riding mate take my VTR, VFR and ST1100 out for a spin round the block. I was pleasantly surprised that the exhaust note of the VTR (stock, gutted pipes) was nowhere near as loud off the bike as on it! He loved the VTR, and as a former TL1000S owner was very taken by the fruity keen nature of the twin.

He was at my house so I could change the cambelts (2!) and oil on his GL1500 Valkyrie; an easy two-beer job that saved him a lot of money in dealer charges, and about 25% as hard as the same job on my ST1100, which required bodywork and radiator removal before I could access the belt.

Pulled off my bent side stand and beat it with a hammer til straight. I'm hoping this will fix the leaning too far.

If you've done any suspension work (e.g. stiffer front springs or shim on the rear shock mount) then the bike will sit higher and lean over further on the stock stand. The stand from a 04-07 (IIRC) CBR1000RR fits straight on and will correct the lean.

It's much better now, there was a curve in it that I removed 90% of but I'll look into that stand.

Rebuilt the clutch master cylinder today. It was freaking nasty inside! Cleaned it of all brake fluid and goo using brake clean and compressed air, then using a soft rag wrapped around a hex shaft slathered in Rollite Polish which I then chucked into my drill, brought the bore back into a glorious smooth shine!

Had today off ( Monday ) and went for a ride out in the bush (Countryside )

Ended up in the "Middle Of Nowhere "

This is typical bush where I live, the road is tar and whilst rough in places it is a good ride when you get a well surfaced part of the road.

Did a round trip down the coast, then inland over a mountain range, then through wide open country with some great high speed sweepers and little traffic.

All up a great day with about 29 degrees C, a light wind and only saw one Police Car.

376 Klms exactly and great fun.

The VTR has been neglected lately due to a project , but now she is raring to go with new pipes, hugger, and original mirrors refitted.

Timing chains checked and tensioned to a gentleman specs on another forum( He sometimes visits here ) Carbs synced and the whole bike detailed.

Here is how she stands. I like the mirrors and I can actually see out of them. A real revelation after putting up with one bar end mirror for a couple of years.

The great thing about this bike is that I will just park her up and during the week check her over , maybe adjust a couple of minor things and do it all again after a minimum of fuss somewhere different.

P.S last weekend I went to a farm about 5 hours away and this is what I saw.

I wish,

The Green Frame is being restored and rumour has it that it will be $100K

The place is full of Ducati motorcycles in all different states of neglect or repair.

An absolute treasure trove of bikes and parts.

There isn't one bike there that I wouldn't love to own.

Everywhere you look there is something of interest.

I will be visiting again and the next time I will get better pictures and the story behind some of the bikes.

Rebuilt clutch m/c, etc.

Just finished installing a new bt023r rear tire, rebuilding the leaky clutch m/c & installing a new rear brake light switch. Phew! I'm done! Going home. Goodnight!

rebuilt and installed 954 brake master. As it now is matching the calipers and has improved lever travel and modulation.
