What did you do with your SuperHawk today?
Went with the ferodo ST pads as per Stephans recommendation.
Will fit them tonight and hopefully try them in the next day or two.
Main reason was because the local Honda dealer had them in stock and I trust Stephans recommendation.
Thanks for the input guys.

Went for a nice 250klm ride today and now the. new tapered stem bearings have a minute amount of play, not much, just felt a slight knock whilst lent over on a rough bumpy corner.
Must be fully seated now so will retension tonight. It's great to ride now, I didn't realise how bad the original bearings were.

Began a number of mods planned and procrastinated too long.
1) pulled front suspension & boxed for shipment to Jamie D for revalve/overhaul.
2) drained coolant and began replacing all hoses
3) removed stock coolant res for replacement w smaller HRC bottle.
4) removed stock horn for replacement with something louder.

If the weather improves, I might go on a group ride over to Whidbey Island and back over the Deception Pass bridge. Right now it's about 40 degrees and overcast. The bike has sat in the garage for two weeks and I hate to have it sit longer than that.
Stephan,
The pads are a huge improvement!
I am being careful with them as they bite so much better . The CBR calipers were a huge improvement over the originals and these pads have taken the brakes to another level as well!
Very happy!

well,
Have been spending a fair bit of time in the Man Cave lately. Started out with an adjustment of the new tapered stem bearings after feeling a bit of a clunk when under brakes and laid over,to removing the exhaust to fix what I believe is an annoying leak.
Well I hope it's a leak, only happens when first started and on de-acceleration around 2500RPM. If it's not a leak I reckon that the manual tensioner on the front needs adjusting. The engines in these things make some weird noises so it's always hard to pinpoint noises but I reckon I'm on the right track.
While it's apart and the new gaskets go in I am going to polish the pipes.
Here 's how she stands and here is the rear header all polished up ready to go back in with some new gaskets from ( I can't believe my luck) Wemoto who just so happen to have a store in my home town way down under here in OZ! even though they are based in the U.K. They even had the gaskets in stock and they cost the princely sum of $5.64!
Lots more to do, and if someone doesn't post their bike in VTR of the month soon I will AGAIN!

Wonder how long it will stay like this?

Cheers from down under

Continuing on with winter mods...
1) Finally got front suspension down to Post Office for shipment to Jamie
2) Finished OEM carb mods with Jack Flash extended idle screws and brass choke fittings. Re-cal'd TPS closer to 500 ohms.
3) Admired all the space for my big hands now that the stock coolant overflow container is removed!
4) Started scheming install of heated grips.

Those carb assemblies look pretty damn shiny to me.
Besides the cool "Jack Screws", what set up did you use on those?
What kind of heaters are you looking at? I'm going to try some that go under my existing grips, because I like them.

No setup - completely stock except for the screws. I have another set I have been using with a setup recommended elsewhere on the forum (https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...-set-up-24769/) Performance wise that setup is very satisfying to ride with Dr Honda stacks, but fuel economy is lacking. So I am going back to stock carbs to see if fuel economy can be improved. With easy access to thumb screws experimentation should be much easier.

If you look above the pic of my carbs you can see them in the box. Bought from Amazon on the recommendation of a fellow local rider who recommended them. They are a complete replacement of existing grips.

Well
The clunk after fitting new stem bearings is a fruited(Rooted) front wheel bearing.
Only replaced it about 2 years ago when I painted the wheels. Not impressed!
Will get new ones on Monday!

N.Z,
You mean the seals on the bearings?
I didn't think of that as the bearings have a seal on both sides.
Do they just pry off?
If so I will do it next time I get new tyres.

Added weights to some stock honda pegs. Idea was to stop some vibrations hurting my legs. Seems to work ok.
Test ride didnt go as planned. Feels like a hard landing off a wheelie knock a vac line off. Ooops.

Got my bike running after what seemed like a long winter break of powdercoating and installing polished stainless steel fasteners...
Unfortunately i let my left clip-on hang for a bit too long and i got air in the clutch line...
So on monday i'll bleed the clutch and get insurance started up again this week...
I did start it today, got it nice and warm, checked both radiators for heat, and rode it around the block. It started right up and idled well...
Pictures coming soon in my build thread.

Today I'm building a ceiling mounted rig to hoist up the rear, so I can remove the stock shock, which will be replaced with an Ohlins. While I'm in there I am going to R&R all the shock linkage to check the bearings and relube them if they are OK. While it's airborne I'm also going to remove the stock exhaust, clean the entire rear of the engine, then replace it with the SS TBR exhaust I purchased from Captain Chaos. Hopefully everything will be done by next Sunday! Then it's on to the engine, valve adjustment, manual CCT's, plugs and a coolant change out.... I need this done by May 1st, but the list just keeps getting longer, sigh...
