What did you do with your SuperHawk today?
Finished the rear today! Yahoo! Next pull the tank, front fairing and spin it around to do the forks and steering stem bearings. In reality that probably won't happen until the last week this month, a ton of work coming in, commencements, graduations and festivals.... I don't want to work, I just want to wrench on my bike all day!
Yes I did! Thought I sent you either a message or email, if not my apologies! The piece looks great! I haven't mounted it up yet. I moved my remote preload mount from the slip-on mount to the bottom of the subframe, got some fiddling to do with the adjustment cable routing!
I got this bike a couple of months ago from a guy who let it sit neglected in the garage for a few years. I got a lot of good info and advise here on the forum.
I finally got everything back together, the oil changed, and fairings back on. Only need an inspection, license plate, and some sunny weather to test it out on the road.
Only things left on the to-do list are install to new tires and some upgrades - suspension, maybe front brakes, and likely a lightened flywheel.

I just ransomed the bike from our local Honda shop.
What I thought was a bad countershaft seal only turned out to be a clutch pushrod seal. No more self-lubing chain anymore.
They got my new Daugherty F4 shock mounted as well. The difference riding home was quite obvious. No more front end dive every time I hit the brakes, the bike feels more stable in corners too.
The last fix was the bike had just started running like the choke was stuck on. It was stalling at stops. It turned out to be leaky float bowl gaskets. My mechanic never liked my Forum jetting scheme and installed a DynoJet kit while he had the carbs apart. So far I have no complaints about it. The bike seems to pull harder in the midrange than before. I didn't see any side effects in my ride home from the shop. Hopefully we'll get some good weather this weekend and I can give the Hawk a real workout.

Finally attended to the bike a little more then just oil change:
Swapped to Manual CCT's
Checked the valve clearance
Rebuild the CBR1000RR forks I have on the bike
Tightened the needle head Bering's
Removed the pair systems
Replaced the OEM air filter with a new one
Installed correct main jets and adjusted the carbs
Replaced new oil lines
Installed the CBR1000RR master cylinder I rebuild sometime ago
Installed new tires
Tested the bike for about 100 miles, feels great!!! :-)
I think that's it for now...

Are both the upper and lower fairings aftermarket Mario Nava's or just the lower?

Finally changed my CCTs to manual APEs, without realizing it I ended up doing it at 33,000 miles on the dot. Sure does give a lot of peace of mind not worrying about impending doom. Today I need to change brake fluid to restore some lever feel, change coolant because its getting HOT suddenly, and a good wash.

I finally got a decent ride in before the rain comes this afternoon.
I wish I had gotten the Daugherty F4 shock years ago. It is so nice not having the bike wallow around on the suspension like it used to do. It feels much more settled and confidence inspiring when I change throttle settings or hit the brakes or dive into a corner.
The DynoJet kit has no major problems so far. It pulls very well from 4K rpm and up. It also makes a nice grumbley pop now and then when I downshift.
I hope you all get to ride today wherever you live.

Took a ride midday and it was great, finally awesome weather in New England and I heard the first complain that it's too hot... go figure... I would take anything hot on the winters here, sucks big time.
Had a buddy coming over to help me spin the SH around in the shop to start the front end... Pulled my back out at work this morning... Junked the whole day, still barely functioning... Getting old SUCKS!!!
I've lost my last day to back problems. My wife's got me doing, I know I'm going to get crap here for saying it, but she's now got me doing Yoga.
Apparently it really helps prevent lower back problems. I guess we will see. Here's to getting old!
Hey Crux,
I find Horizontal Folk Dancing beneficial for the Lower Back!
Seeing as your wife has got you doing Yoga, She should reciprocate and partake in your preferred excercise as well!
Now get back to that bike. Wer'e waiting to see it.

Horizontal Folk Dancing! Hahaha!
My backs been out for two weeks. Went to Harbor Freight and bought one of their low MC Dolly's and I was finally able to spin the bike around in the shop. Pulled the upper fairing, today the tank comes off, then it's front end rebuild time!
