Crux,

I worked interstate as a fly in fly out guy running a couple of Car Dealerships for a while .

I shipped my VTR up and that's when most of the mods began. Most of my mates went out drinking and carousing while I tinkered away at the VTR.

It all started one day when I decided to give her a service! Ha Ha, what a joke , Thousands of $ later and you have seen the end result.

I had a bad case of OCMD and it has only recently subsided.(Famous last words )

What a great bike.

Can't wait to see your finished item.

Started working on my R/R mod, I'm relocating the turn signal flasher, in the process. Nutserts have been placed, the bulbous weld ground down so the new R/R sits flat, and made a flat aluminum plate to keep the torsional stress off the R/R when being fastened down, plus help further with the heat sink capability ... Now on to the wiring!

Finished wiring up the new MOSFET R/R and the flasher! Also went through the front master cylinder all set to reinstall when the front end is completed!

Looks great! Is that paint or powder coat on your wheels? I'm installing new wheels, that's color I'd like mine to be.

Rode the 'Hawk approximately 300 miles today on an out and back loop to Allegheny National Forest and the Kinzua Dam in Northwest PA. Discovered lots of very scenic, twisty, hilly roads there.

Nearly ran out of gas about 5 miles from home on the return leg but thankfully noticed the blinking red dot on the LCD in time to refuel.

Bike ran great with no problems.

Man, it was a hot one today in the central part of the state. Did you loose weight on the ride?

The wheels are powder coated took me about 40 phone calls and 4 months to find the color. Mine are done single stage with no clear coat to keep the heat from softening the aluminum...

Spent two hours cleaning road sealer off the front on the engine, reckon there is another 4-6 hours before its done! Ugh... Got sick of spraying an scraping and started on the carbs since they were off...

Hey Crux,

I mustn't be cool but I did do the Burnie Morgan mod and noticed a difference.

Bike ran smoother.

I modified an old clothes steamer and am now making quicker, but more humid progress on removing the road sealer from the SuperHawk! I can see silver bits on the front of the engine now! Yahoooooo!

I've been putting commute miles on my SH in preparation for selling my car. Today I began mounting up a Satellite Radio receiver. Tested the system and it works great, now just need to find some mounting locations that won't vibrate off!

Again I got sick of steaming off the road sealer so I took a break and rebuilt my clutch slave and mounted the cover and the slave...

OK, so it was yesterday. Figured I was never going spend the money to get the parts to rebuild the set of 954 calipers I've had sitting, waiting for a really long time, I installed them.
A little time with a Dremel and sanding drum they were on. Will install the 954 M/C (have had this part for a while also) rebuild kit that is now on order. In the interim I will be enjoying the much improved braking power.
Lever travel is not near as much as I expected, really not that different from stock. Effort is a little more, and is also better than expected.

Undecided at this point, the bike came with a K&N and has a Factory Pro Ti jet kit in it, currently 48 slows, with 180/182 mains. I added Jack Flash air screws and choke fittings. I may or may not go with the aluminum velocity stacks I purchased... That said I have a local tuner a Ducati guy, but who really likes SuperHawks and he will be going to the dyno with me. It ran flawlessly when I bought it. The exhaust is getting changed from a stock header/Jardine hi mounts to TBR header/Yosh RS3 lo mounts so the jetting may wiggle a bit! No worries!

So not been around much lately due to my Dad passing away and sorting his house out etc.

Finally worked out what my leg pain riding is, I have Sciatica. Looks like I can do something about it.

Also the below photo happened. GSX1250fa. Came up and the price was right, only got 6k miles on it. A full Holeshot stage 2 is in line for it, this gives it 130hp and 93ft.

Not sure of the future of the VTR. Keep or sell I dont know. Maybe dedicated track bike.

One of my most hated jobs in all motorcycling got done today... Straightened out every bent fin in both radiators and the oil cooler. Putting some fresh matte silver paint on the rad tanks...

Wednesday night Ducati Tuner/Builder/Restorer extrodinaire Mike Weber took time out of his mega busy schedule to press fit the water pump impeller back into my VTR1000F engine case. At the end I thanked him for his help and tried to take a celebratory selfie of us while holding up the Honda manual! Mike was having none of that and so, dropped the clutch, pulled a u-ey and started to exit the frame! Too slow Duc man, too slow! Hahahahahahaha!
