Walked past mine in the shop.......grabbed my helmet and left on my shadow. Unfortunately, she still isn't ready for spring. Tonight maybe.......yeah, tonight.

Laser or radar?
I feel your pain.
I live in a very rural county so the alpha-bit soup of different LEO's are concentrated in and around the only population centers which is my typical riding radius. If radar detectors are legal in MA I suggest that you invest in one. Mine has saved me many, many times.
As a note to all, I don't use this device to be wantonly stupid. It's very easy to be $300+ above the legal limit without meaning to.

13.8 v at idle, and not much change at 2k rpm. It actually seems a drop a fraction of a volt when revved. But after idling for 5-10 minutes I noticed the new part was warm to the touch. This was my unscientific way of determining that things must be working ok.
I tinned the end of the wires, used good insulated spade terminals and used a proper crimper. Pretty happy with the connections.
Here is the RR that I used.

Po man's carb synch

Scrap tubing, drywall, romex staples, Dextron fluid.
Finding the tiny tees was the biggest hassle. I didn't remove the tank and was able to cut in the tees.

Muffler Repack! Thought it would be good to check and repack the Jardines. Never been done and looks like they needed it. Overall a very easy job and well worth doing. Re packed them using AreaP fill. Ended up having to take the whole exhaust off since I found my rear clamp was shot and not tight. Going to rewrap the headers and reinstall with new gaskets as soon as they get in.

Man Salieb seems like that is a job that needs re doing way too often. Hope you wore long sleeves.

If you are ordering the donut gaskets you should get extra for the next time the wear out too fast.

Thanks everyone for the various forms of winter advice, loving the RAM mount, works like charm! The rear directionals resolved the electrical issue!

Cheers!

Bleh it blew again in like 10 minutes, haven't touched the electrical system in ages and also already have a MOFSET RR.. Ideas on where to start?

Probably vibration related and something missing insulation is touching something else

Sweet. Your world is USD. How is the ride?
I admit to constantly shopping for the parts to do this.

The ride is very nice and stable. Next will be a braced rear swinger, 1000rr rear wheel and rebuild the rear shock.

You will have some fitment issues with a CBR wheel and forget about the stock shock and go right to an F4i conversion or if the budget allows an aftermarket unit with adjustable length. $.02

Took out of garage and checked tire pressure.

Cleaned the K&N, as well as chain - re-earled both. Then cleaned my filthy rear rim - woof the build up of chain lube...

Going riding for the weekend somewhere....

Stay Safe peeps

I hobbled out to the shop on my still sore feet and had a look into the clutch side as I planned. I drained the oil I just changed into two brand new, 4 quart Ziplock brand refegrator tubs. These are great. they are cheap, clean and reusable until I get sick of them. Like I said, I drained the oil and popped the lids on and set them asside for later. Like wise I drained the coolant (after removing the fairing of course) and pored that into a jug for later. Pulling the clutch cover was uneventful except I tore the gasket. I had a new one so it was OK. I had been able to save the old one before but this time it was not to be.

The anti-rattle gear was installed without spring tension. My bad! I could tell that this was making at least some of the racket since I could feel the slop and hear it as I moved it back and forth. Out it came and good riddance. I also pulled the clutch plates and checked the position of the judder spring and the condition of the plates. It is all good.

It sounds so much better. It still has a mechanical sound (A little like someone giggling change in their pocket) but it is a good sound. I can even hear the high pitch whirring common to the breed.

I got hearing aids yesterday (yes I am getting old) and I have been wearing them religiously. They take some getting used to because now I hear EVERYTHING! I had to pull them out of me ears to listen to the VTR because it was really too much. It is a lot like listening to the motor through the handle of a screw driver placed on the block. You really do hear everything.

One of the features of these hearing aids is they shut down when the sound gets too loud. When the sound gets loud enough to hurt it shuts off. I would rev the VTR and then hearing aids would shut off and then come back on as the revs fell. These things are necessary but they take some getting used to. I can hear myself talk. I can hear it when I scratch my head. I guess it is all the sounds I have been missing.

So basically Jim: What did you do to your Superhawk today? "I heard it for the first time, until I didn't hear it anymore..."

Kind of like that. I have actually been hearing things for the first time. The door chimes in the car, for example, sound different because I am hearing them in a different tonal range. The bike sounds the same but different. The best way I can describe the feeling it is like having an in-ear monitor. We used to use these in the band. I can hear my own voice as well as other voices and sounds. The tapping on the keyboard is really loud. I am having to get my wife not to yell at me since I can now hear a regular voice. It is taking some getting used to.

You sound exactly like my Dad! Same experience with his new hearing aids. He wants to shoot, "those damn chirping birds" outside thier house. He never knew they were there haha

I am looking at hearing aids myself (39 y.o.). I was taken back by how much these cost. I want to get the ones with Bluetooth, but dang, I could buy three or four low mileage, beautiful Superhawks for the cost of hearing everything again. After listening to my Dad say how much he was missing, I think it's worth it.

**** - I parked in the wrong spot at a gas station in Hancock NY, while trying to escape the family and the VTR fell over while I was releasing water. Needless to say I freaked when I saw my baby sleeping on its side.
Broke the front brake lever and the right flush mount lens. Thankfully I have frame silders so that saved lots, but being about 2 hrs from casa & no front brake is no bueno.

So I did the smart thing & pressed on....

Now drinking a beer @ a nice restaurant in New Paltz NY.

And using a taxi....

Throttle is sticking too, so now I have cruise control....

Oh well it could have been worse...

My VTR is Narcoleptic

Holy **** - I did it AGAIN!!!

On ride home from New Paltz, NY - I stopped in the Poconos to gas up & a pee break, went to park after gas up & the kick stand didn't go all the way down and I did a slow drop - WTF not my w/e.

So now the clutch lever is like a banana

So I need new levers - what after market are good?
