What did you do with your SuperHawk today?

Wow! What a great looking find and a sad one at that. I have a hard time imagining someone letting a bike fall to that kind of neglect. There needs to be some sort of club for those of us that bought Superhawks having never ridden them.
There needs to be another thread started with stories of what kind of bike people stuffed into what kind of car.

As for me and what I did to my VTR today, I bought a RK GB530XS0Z1 RX-Ring Chain for my SH and I returned the half bearing shells I didn't use. Excepth for a right hand mirror I think I have all the parts I need to finish the baby.

Oh I agree. But the original owner fell ill and sadly passed away.

Removed these. It looks like the carbs have never been off this bike.
I ordered a set of nifty pilot jet "thumb screw" replacements from Jack.
Made a pilot screw removal tool from a piece of scrap tubing by center punching the tip. It seems to work well for removing the old "D" head screws.

Did a 600Klm ride with these bikes.
3 tanks of fuel and a lot of fun.

The Harley slowed us down somewhat. It belongs to a guy that I grew up with and haven't seen for over 20 years.
Was a nice surprise to see him and an even bigger surprise to see him on a Harley as he always had the biggest and best Jap Sports Bikes.

I mentioned in another post that I wouldn't ride untill the rain washed the salt off the roads. But today, tomorrow, and Monday's riding is worth a bike wash. Pulled the Superhawk out of storage and took 'er for a spin today. Holy crap! I forgot how much fun the FIL mod was. I forgot how much fun second gear wheelies are. They are so freakin' easy! Just roll on the throttle and carry the wheel. After many months of no riding, you have to have fun on your first time out this season.
Installed my new D&D exhaust before my ride. I had a high mount Jardine RT-1 exhaust prior and I was told that the D&D mufflers would bolt right up in place of the Jardine's and be high mounts. Sure enough, they in fact do! I love, sorry, let me rephrase that, I LOVE the sound of these D&D mufflers! They are just as loud as the Jardine mufflers, but with a much deeper tone. Love 'em!

Awesome - I love my Ohlins rear - best mod evuh! Yeah weather no bueno this Winter for the NE - but hey I could live in Boston and had 8' this year - DOH!
I just looked at forecast & we have some warm daze coming up - 50s, but it will rain
Hoping for a warm dry April

I was in DR back in 2001 or 2002 and a bunch of buddies and I took out thier "funny bikes", which are 3 or 4 wheelers for those reading. We rode around most of the island. Took the entire day. Just couldn't go in certain areas for obvious reasons. Lots of guys with guns! (This is 13 or 14 years ago and is not like that anymore) It was a blast going through mud pits, drinking coffee with the locals during the stops, all kinds of stuff. I would recomend the DR to anyone.

put in new spark plugs. Been working on my valve adjustment for the last few days on and off. .005 intake on the rear intake valves, and .012" on the rear exhaust valves.
Such a pain to get the front valve cover off. Figured I have to swap the clutch out of my parts bike as my street VTR clutch is slipping, so I've got to take the right rad off anyways to get to my clutch.
Spring maintenance sure is fun!...
Ripped the spark plug boot off the front as well... tore right in half. Always something... at least I can swap the coil from my parts VTR.
Could always do the coil-on-cap mod... hmmm.
