Buying Superhawk 27,000k. What 2 Look 4?

I am going to look at a 2000 vtr 1000 Superhawk to probably purchase. It appears from the pics to be in really good shape. Is there anything that I need to look or listen for on this bike with this mileage? It has 27,000 miles and is all stock with a selling price of $3000. I believe that it has had several owners also. Thanks for any advice.

CCTs rattling. Find out if the RR was replaced recently (not a deal-breaker, but just something to expect to change sooner or later).

And 27k miles is not a whole lot. These bikes are bulletproof when maintained.

And maybe the clutch if it's been worked hard. This pertains to any bike.

rattling

Hey, I'm new in the forum. I had my 98 VTR for 3 months now. I usually read on the web about the rattling sound on the VTR due to the CCT's and to be carefull with it. My bike does a rattling sound but only when accelerating uphill, when the engine has to put some effort on it. I red in the bike's manual that when the bike us under heavy load the engine will make a rattling sound, and that it is totally normal, something about the valves I think it says.
Should I worry about it ??

thank you

r/r= regulator/rectifier. Achilles heel of honda's. When they go, they either undercharge (bad) or overcharge (very bad) the battery and electrical system. It's on the right side of the subframe. If you can, pull the plug and look for any signs of burning. If the r/r has fins, that's a good sign.

Correct on cct's. Will make very loud rattling sound if going out.

The "normal" rattling sound is not the valves, it's the carb slides.

But damn...after rereading the title....27,000,000 miles IS a lot!

Might want to check steering head bearings too - feel for notchiness as you turn the bars back and forth, and general looseness around the steering head. These bikes wheelie awful easy! A ham-fisted owner (not me, of course could do some damage coming down.
