Need tires for a trip

It looks like I will be taking a trip from the Portland area to southern California in July.
The plan is to cut across to the coast and run the entire way down the coast, 1 and 101 then returning up 395 a good portion of the way. That will probably be at least 2500 miles. I think that will about use up a rear Q2. I was thinking of buying a set of more sport touring oriented tires just for the trip.

I was thinking about Sport Max Roadsmart or Pilot Road (2 or 3). Does anyone have any experience with any of these on a Superhawk? I do plan to go back to the Q2's later.

Thanks.

The 101 and 1 both run through my town as well as matthawk's. If you have time in the San Luis Obispo area and want to hit the best roads here let me know.

No body has any experience with either of these tires? Any other input?

I took my last trip on a bridgestone bt021 rear & 202 front which I have on both my hawks. I did like 2k miles and it barely noticed. Its really good in the wet which is why I got it. In my experience thats when you need the most confidence/traction anyway.

I use the Pilot Road 3s and get 14K miles out of the rear. Front still in use with almost 16K miles. Would recommend them to anybody that is looking for a touring tire. I don't take it easy on them either. Stickiness is just fine for twisties and can handle speeds of <160mph in a straight line. If you need any more info on my experience with them PM me. Those get sent to my cell so I can respond faster.

I hear pilot road 3s are excellent. Bike magazine (Brit rag) says they make the bike feel like it has ohlins suspension. I want those next.....

I used a Road2 on the rear of my CBRXX. It can really hold it's own for street riding. very spirited capability and good tread life.

Bridgestone BT023 on the rear and 016 on the front, at least until I switched to BT003RSs when she went track-only. Did about 1k street miles and 2 trackdays on the last 023, and it's currently mounted on the back of my Concours 14, and just did another 1k (in a day!) on that bike.

The 023 hooked up at the track everywhere except for the entrance to the main straight at Inde Motorsports Ranch in Willcox AZ, where I got fast enough to need to get in the power early enough in that corner to get it to spin up. I was very pleased with them, and highly recommend them as street tires.
