i need new tires

i will be getting home, i have been deployed for 7 months now with the military, and my bike needs tires. i want something that will last for awhile, yet still be good in the corners. i do a decent amount of highway riding to and from work. any suggestions? what is a good cheap place to buy from on the net?

First off, glad to hear your coming home! I ran a Bridgestone Battlax B-021 or something like that and had good results with it. Lasted about 3k miles, and held fairly good with my aggressive street riding. I have a dunlop qualifer on the rear now thats about toast too. I'm going to try a pilot power next and see what all the raves are about.

Tires

Go with the Michelin Pilot Powers. I got them about 2,000 miles ago and they still look new. I commute 3-4 days a week and canyon carve at 90 MPH weekends. improved the bike 100%.

Pilot Powers rule! I've had mine for a couple months now and couldn't be happier with them. Very confidence inspiring.

+1 for Pilot Powers, I just installed the 2CT's and they say the middle will last longer. I'd buy them fot the handling alone.

My vote is Conti Road Attacks. Not real expensive but decent traction and good life.

Plus they hold up really well on deployments. I've had mine sitting for 13 months now and the wife says no dry rotting and very very little air loss.

Welcome home by the way.

I've also got the Pilot Power 2CT's and love them. I'm not too sure about this recall stuff but they made the bike handle much better.

i ended up getting the Michelin pilot roads. i like the fact that they last for so long, with sporty grip. i am a dad now, and i dont need to be going for the 100% effort on back roads of ohio. i got them for $270 shipped to my house, which i think is reasonable. let me know if anyone has these and what they think

Not to put down the pilots, since Ive never owned them... but

I got the Diablo III's and they have a dual compound made specificly for commuters (like me) who like to hit the twistys on the weekends.

Ive got about 1000 miles (mostly straight) on them and cant even tell they are broken in yet.

Only cost me about 289 for the set too.

I just got a set of Pirelli Diablos from Dennis Kirk for 236.98 shipped. The UPS guy just rang the bell. I am trying these for the first time. I ran Conti-Force Maxs just before this set arrived. Not bad for the price and never once had an issue with them. Gave good feedback and about 4000 miles before needing replacement. But that is average for me. Gotta go put on the Diablos now!

I just got the Pirelli Diablo corsa 3 and they seem like pretty good ones to me thus far. Before that I had Metzeler M-1. Both are pretty good in my opinion.
