I ground a little too much out of the bracket. I wanted it nice and close to the pipe.


I ground enough out that the sidestand switch keeps the light on in the dash. Ended up pulling the bulb. Problem solved!

I milled the stand about 4mm where it contacted the bracket in full open position.

 

We were talking about grinding the bracket at 6 o'clock. So, when the sidestand is down, it moves down and forwards a bit more. Otherwise, it doesn't really "lock" in the down position. Your bike can easily roll backwards and fall over.

While doing this mod, I was behind my bike (level ground) and very gently pulled on the bike with one hand. It rolled backwards way to easily and would have fell over if I wasn't holding it up. This is why the bracket is ground down a bit.

What's wierd, is after the sidestand install, I took the bike for a run and during a full throttle up to redline run, my sidestand light came on. I pulled over and played with the sidestand connection under the seat and all has been well since. Just a loose connection I guess.
