The slots on the rubber surrounding piece have corresponding male plastic "posts" to slide in to keep them secure.
By stacking one on the other, partial under the support for the seat lock.
As a quick preventative maintenance hack, you should clean the wires where they enter the weather pack plug and coat the wire(s) where the insulation is worn away with some liquid electrical tape.
Can someone take a second and post a picture of where they go? I see no posts that the rubber can slide into.
Im sure its messed up from the PO when he hacked the back and installed LED bulbs. Its a butcher job for sure. Ill take pics.

Random suggestion in case you no longer have mounting tabs. Two small holes drilled into the plastic undertray, then a long zip tie (or two) fed through the rubber slots to secure them.

I did, and just added another pic.
NOTE, folks sometimes trim (AKA Hack) up the under tail.....those plastic tabs may be gone. If so, get some Zip tie mounts from your good local hardware store or order on line.....I buy um 1000 at a time on line for pennies a piece.
Clean an area with rubbing alcohol, and stick the zip tie mounts to the plastic tray, then zip tie the ECU and converter in place.

ZIP Tie mounts?!?! I had no idea those existed! Waaay better option than drilling little holes. Nice!
Well taking my kids out took its toll and I didnt get much done.
I did find out that the tail light bulbs are LED and were wired wrong, they now work great.
Also I cannot get the stuff onto the plastic tabs because of the bolts used for the license plate bracket hitting.
Anyone have a link for an LED flasher relay that will work with the hawk? Mine flash like they are freaking the hell out.
I have one of these on my ST1100, will also be plug and play on your VTR. Don't worry that the original flasher unit uses 3 pins and these only have two, the missing one is a ground and not actually needed. The connector size is identical.
