STACK LOCATION!

Do I remember reading here that the longer/taller stack goes on the rear cylinder? I can't find the service man. I downloaded or the disk I burned it on! Help! If this is my problem, I will be stoked and I will also be calling that shop!

There is an arrow on the stack and one on the base that should line up.

They had them on opposite! Could this be my whole problem? What a bunch of idiots. I opened it up (I'm not a mechanic) saw the arrows not lined up. Took them off, found that they only line up if the taller is in the rear. Put em back on. Thinks it will be different?

Oh it will be different but if a slide is sticking (like you said in your PM) there is still a couple of problems but you found the big one.

No, it's the same. That slide was opening and closing fine. I dunno man, this is depressing. Thought I accomplished something!

So, if the shop didn't get the stacks in the proper location, I would almost be suprised if they got the cam chain timing right! The bike does run slightly better with the choke pulled a little. It still doesn't have the power described here. I'm thinking of getting my hands dirty and pulling the covers to have a look myself. I found the service manual I downloaded and the instructions are fairly simple looking. It looks like you just have to take your time and follow them. Any more suggestions?

Don't over tighten the plugs in the stator cover when you reinstall them or you will never get them back out.

Other than that just follow the manual, it's not all that difficult

Nothing after 12:30 p.m. that I know of. You know, I tried pulling the choke out a bit more on accell. and it's even stronger. Is it possible to adjust air/fuel mixture while the carbs are on the bike? It looks impossible to get to the screws. I'm wondering if it's just set up super rich.

Well if you have the special tool you can do it on the bike. If your around I'll give you a call in a bit to set a time up to get you dialed in.
