Braided lines on, took my first ride in the NC mountains of the season. What a difference! Firm level, fantastic modulation - night and day from the 1998 rubber brake lines.

Managed to leave a bragging GSXR1000 rider looking for tire tracks up one of my favorite mountain roads, too. Gotta love a well sorted Superhawk!

There you go, Now you will think the can is a cut down stocker. But it looks to be a custom job that can be re-packed. The link pipe looks factory but is not. Very well done whoever did it.

When I get time I will polish the header and give it a try.

Nothing much but snap a picture haha. Current rebuild and mods are being put on hold until the weekend after next. Finally made some progress over the weekend as I got the new rubber on the rims and a full service on the wheels.

Honey-dos seem to be taking up most of my free time recently so I haven't been able to work to much on the bike.

Geez I thought I had mine torn down with just the carbs out Meier haha

I had never pulled the carbs because the bike has always felt fairly solid, finally pulled them and it had a K&N which immediately met it's maker and made me question how well the bike really could run

Opened the carbs, stock long springs, dynojet needles on a middlish clip, 48 pilots, and 175 Front 178 Rear mains. So pretty dang close to what I had already bought parts for which was the recommended carb setup for this forum. Guess it was pretty close but I'll indeed put the stock needles in and shim them along with the stock air filter should be a good start

Of course my plastic choke fittings broke but I just laughed because I had metal spares ready, also some nice idle mixture screws courtesy of Jack Flash

I pulled the carbs bacl off because some how (don't ask because I honestly have no clue) one of my MCCTs got bent when i went down last October. So I figure it's better safe than sorry to just replace both MCCTs and double check the timing while I have the cam covers off.

Also while I have it apart I am servicing things that the P.O. Couldn't awnser about the bike. Currently have the slave cylinder off for rebuild and repaint along side the exhaust system.

Shift lever is off to straighten it back out.

Before I build her back up I plan on pulling more parts off for a quick refinish including the tank that I just had painted last year around this time.

I have the new grips, levers, mirrors, air filter, fairing bolts, break pads, integrated tail light, plus a few other items I am brain farting on ready to go back on. I plan on integrating two new running lights to help with forward projection of light and leds to make the bike more visible during the dark hours I find myself riding in during the morning.

I guess I can say that out side of just snapping the picture I did unpack and examine the new fairing kit that showed up on my door step today.

I wanted to change the sprockets and chain while I had things apart but after looking at them I realized I have at least 2 more seasons on the current set up and I have spent way to much money this round alone. Hhahahaa.

Got a nice ride in on Saturday. Another beautiful clear Spring day here in Washington. Passed on a group ride due to the dregs of my cold, but ended up enjoying the bike and the day for a good two hours.

WOW, new rubber carb boots came in and they are elastic! None of this super brittle, needs a heat gun on it for minutes to make pliable and be able to work with

Doing MCCT's this weekend along with valve clearance check since I'll have the covers off and it's at 52,XXX miles then putting it all back together with billet velocity stacks and new carb jetting (of our thread here) with some Jack Flash idle mixture screws

Isn't that nice!? I bought new boots as well and love how easy it is to take the carbs off and especially to put them on. Sooo much easier!

Yesterday, I did a fork service/rebuild on my '07 CBR1000RR forks. Very easy to do. Just had one slight mishap with the spring compressor.

Whenever I go to this forum, on the homepage, I leave the "Latest Album Picture" up, and I have been watching your progress. I have to say, its going to be a very clean bike!

Ordered an F4 Conversion shock from Jamie Daugherty. Once the sun came out I rode backstreets out to Granite Falls and back. Thinking about bar-end mirrors.

Fell down, go boom. About 1/2 mile from work. Did ride it to the shop.
Wish I could figure out how to post pics from my phone.
Damn, my left knee kinda hurts, a wee bit rashed and bruised.
Bike looks the worst, though.

At least you are okay?

Get a Photobucket account and post the pictures to that and Photobucket will provide you a link to share your pictures with.

Sorry you went down.

Thanks. I have/had a pb account but they changed their formatting some years ago and haven't been able to get back in since.

I'll definitely be searching for some parts here once I've taken inventory.

Thanks, VTR. Yeah, I seem to be doing okay. Just a little stiff in the left knee, been way worse before. Kind of a toss up whether my knee or my pride hurts worse. For the most part, my riding gear did its job. Next piece of gear will be a pair of good, armor reinforced, riding pants.
I do have a feeling I'll feel worse after I get the chance to tear the Hawk down and inventory the hidden damage. So far all I see is cosmetic stuff. The tail piece is definitely trashed.

Tail piece? Yours or the bikes?

Glad to hear you are good beside your knee. How did the getoff happen? Momentary concentration loss?

The bikes, along with the tail light and seat cowl. This weekend I'll start taking it apart to see what the hidden damage may be.
