What did you do with your SuperHawk today?
I bought it!
I got the mint red 98 SuperHawk. The seller had the original owners manual, and sales receipts. It was sold in 3-31-2000 and Fred's Honda in Corvalis, Oregon. The bike came with a seat cowl and a Honda Service manual. I'm really tickled at how good looking this bike is; it looks flawless. Jeff, the former owner and a really good guy, rode it up to Everett for the sale.

I put the seat cowl on the bike Thursday.
Today I rode it to our local Honda dealer here in Everett. I had bought a small Kryptonite U-Lock for it. The lock would not fit over the Hawk's discs, so I traded it in for a through-hole peg style lock.
I went back out to the bike and the shop owner Mike and all his GoldWing buddies were grouped around the 'Hawk admiring it. Mike had told me the last time I was in the shop that he used to own a 'Hawk and still regrets selling it. I also met Cedric, one of the mechanics, who owns a very trick SuperHawk filled with HRC parts. He has one of the racing ECUs with no rev-limiter and his bike will rev to over 12 grand without any issues. He built a hybrid CBR/ GoldWing show bike that you may have seen in a magazine.
The service department was slow so I got to have my 'Hawk checked out. I was very relieved to find out it passed the compression tests with a perfect 170/170 score. Being a new twin owner I had the usual qualms about the bike. Is that behavior just the bike being a V-twin or is something wrong with the engine? Its a great relief to find out the bike is in good shape mechanically. It's also a relief for find that good VTR-friendly folks are a short ride away. I'll probably have Cedric install my manual CCTs when I get them.

going to do a full fluid replacement come spring time its in winter storage right now,
on the gixxer forum i found a really good way to bleed the brakes i will share it with you guys if you already use it
Not to thread highjack, but I have to hand kudos out to Mark Krieger. After I botched my order on his manual CCTs (it's a god-given talent of mine), Mark personally cancelled the order, refunded my money, issued a corrected order, and saved me $4.00 in the process. The amazing thing is he did this on a Sunday. It's good to know there are still good guys out there.
I rode the Hawk for an hour yesterday late afternoon hitting the scenic county two- lanes south of my house. The cool weather, the sound of the bike, and hitting a few twisties all reminded me why I do this, why I have a bike, and what a stress reliever it can be! I'm starting to understand the charm of the Superhawk with that roarty V-Twin and excellent handling with decent comfort. I loved the Speed Triple that I sold but this is a different riding experience all together. Not better or worse just cool in it's own way. The best bike is really having three bikes
(triple, twin, and I-4), maybe someday!
I don't know why the Hyosung speaks to me so much, I know the SV650 is a better engine, but something about the hyo just speaks to me. I like the dash better (especially that it has an analog style tach) the adjustable stock rear sets, inverted forks, body work looks sharper in my opinion too.

I took the hawk out with Gene and his CBR929 for 110 mile jaunt. Took some video thats got a lot of buzz in it (I ordered a suction cup mount to try hooking the camera up to the fairing, I just don't like that my camera doesn't have the ability to use a filter and I'm worried about cracking the lens) I may try to clip something together of the good parts.
Edit: I was also reminded by this posting to go order the new rubber side mounts for my fuel tank since mine are all missing

Jamie Daugherty is the man! Installed his fork springs last night while it was raining (simple as pie since he does all the real work for you by pre-cutting the spacers) and the bike feels SO much better now. Best $95 mod I've done to ANY motorcycle period! I still have to change the fluid to a step thicker weight per my preferences but the bike is worlds better now, no brake dive so severe it bottoms out the suspension, its just a whole new bike.

I also added some bling during the down time

Did my longest ride yet on the "new to me" 2002 Hawk.
Today was a short ride around town to fill up on gas, air up the tires (It took me getting out of the neighborhood to realize they were low - 18 and 25 psi...)
then out on to the nearby Expressway. This being my largest (and first water-cooled AND sport bike for that matter) I still cant get use to how quick the acceleration is up to 70 mph.

Yea its clear to see how a person can kill themselves with a crotch rocket. The wife is none too thrilled. Thinks its a mid life crisis. Im enjoying it though. Its nice to ride a different kind of bike.
Now, tonight Im hoping to figure out why my gas gauge is flashing empty, despite being full. Been that way since I got it. Hoping its something simple. Other than instrument cluster swaps and late model swaps I didn't see much in the way of troubleshooting in the threads other than
