Picked up an LED for the 3rd eye during lunch and then knocked the snow off its cover. Can we get some spring weather soon please....

you so sure it's the rad? asking cause I thought mine had same thing only to find out it wasn't , it was the res bottle instead seems that small weephole they have in the one side (goes into the frame) well that was a bugger to find. I still need a new res bottle however the radiater holds a lot of water all on its own so only thing not holding water is the res bottle.

Well yesterday started out with this once again:

What did you do with your SuperHawk today?-005.jpg

Then to find out if I have finally fixed the rich-mids issue I've been dealing with....

It was a bit brisk and the roads were sanded in places but for testing the bottom end it was perfect

What did you do with your SuperHawk today?-007.jpg

What did you do with your SuperHawk today?-009.jpg

and have I finally gotten everything sorted once again.....

That's what I get for making more than one change at a time....big dummy....

Just got back from a nice ride to Daytona and back. (Was bored and couldn't sleep)
Had the (Tron: Legacy) soundtrack blasting away in my ears thinking to myself... "What I wouldn't give to be on a Lightcycle."

That and.... Hoping my Chin-Scoop, LED tail light and swing-arm license bracket will all be in today.
That would make me very...... very..... happy.
Soon... ORDER 66 will be complete and the Sith will ride again.

Gave the bike a wash and wax today.

I mostly used Bilt Hamber Products.
Corrosion Protection, Rust Removal, Car Wax and Car Polish from Bilt-Hamber UK

1 coat of Cleanser Polish
2 coats of Finis-wax
2 coats of Hydra wax

I also used Bilt Auto-wheel and Surfex de-greasent.

I then re-greased everything that needed doing and cleaned, oiled and adjusted my chain.

It's looking lovely and shiny......

Installed 3rd eye LED, waxed and hesitantly installed a bra to cover PO's tank dents near seat, will be Repainting some time. Yesterday Welded, shaped and tapped the shift lever peg, removing aforementioned PO's hack job.

Before
After (still think I want to swap out the tinted lens)

3/8" franken shift peg! No thanks

Welded and peened

Several Steps Later

Next up, Relay lighting Harness, LED Tail mod, and install the Sliders.

Are you going with the Eastern Beaver harness? Not a joke, that's really the name. If so you will be pleased, it's wiring ****.

Lived through another ride. I was caught out in the rain 40 miles from home and was riding blind through the hillcountry. Was blinded by a car and when the road went left I went straight. I thought, well, lets find that barbed wire fence and sleep there tonite but then the road went right and came up beneath me. Never even slowed down, was probably doing 50mph. Bike looks like **** though.

Yes, normally I would build one myself, (I make harnesses & rectifiers for my old bikes as well as effect pedals etc)
but honestly didn't want to bother with this one. waiting for its arrival now. Starting the led tail mod in a minute.

You might want to have another headlight bulb handy when you install the harness. I had a PIAA that had come with the bike and it got really bright of course but blew out AT NIGHT about a 100 miles from home and I had to ride with highbeam wich pissed off alot of drivers. I replaced it with a Sylvania wich has been fine for the last year. The harness makes a world of difference.

Good advice, figured I'd pick up a little higher wattage lamp, But will just wrap and stash the spare in case.

As for Today's work, Modded the Taillight with the 10 LED Trailer light. Took her out for a little spin and filled up with a whopping 3.3 gallons...

I doubt you really need a higher wattage... With the harnes, the stock bulb should put out plenty of light, way more than with the crappy OEM wiring

I notched the F4i calipers I got off craigslist to fit with my Dremel... one of them anyway, before I had to leave for work.

Anybody ever refinish calipers with the off the shelf epoxy caliper paints from the auto parts store or otherwise? Thinking about doing something exciting. Maybe blue. (More than likely they will be silver or black.)

Started the bike for the first time with the high mount Jardine's I got from Captainchaos. All I can say is: "Can you hear me now?!?" These pipes rock - and they look so much better than stock..

Now if I could just massage the damned fairing stay back into some reasonable alignment I could re mount the fairing and maybe even go for a spin.

Swapped out the tinted 3rd eye for a clear lensed one. Like the look of the tint but kinda sorta like a bit more attention to the front of my bike from cars.

I agree... I'm thinking about adding some additional lighting up front somewhere.

As for me, I riveted on the new RK chain with a $10 Harbor Freight chain tool and checked the tolerances with a dial caliper from them too. Yes, yes, I know...
