Yeah, me neither.

When the card came back stolen months later, the card provider demanded funds to reimburse themselves back for the loss. Well, that meant paypal getting reimbursed for having to payback the CC provider so therefore paypal took it upon themselves to go into anyones account that had done business with this individual and take money from their paypal account. If no funds were in their paypal account, then paypal went into your physical bank account and withdrew the money. If that wasn't bad enough, when I demanded a reimbursement back into my account from paypal, they told me pretty much "sorry, but here is $25 for you troubles but we have to get paid back". Probably came off confusing, I know, as I left a ton of details out but moral of the story, don't think paypal is a safety net because they can be just as crooked as a theif. My experience with them when I ran a internet business.
I'm not positive about this, but I think paypal is on the hook from a legal standpoint. They may have something about it stated in their terms of use mumbo jumbo, but I can't imagine it would hold up in court. They are the ones who took the credit card info and did not verify whether it was legitimate. I don't believe they have any legal right to charge you for their negligence....

I was under that impression too but got tired of dealing with them back and forth over the course of a month or more. It got real drawn out and in the end, I lost out on my labor ($300) plus the equipment ($800+) and all I got back was a measly $25 for my troubles as they put it. They could of at least throw in a t-shirt.

The guy who scammed me actually started up one of those "moms garage businesses". He suckered in thousands of dollars from people. Everyone contacted the local law enforcement, even got the FBI branch involved in his area but never heard anything of it. Still waiting I guess.

But yeah I'm drifting into a rant. I do think there probably is some clause or something but they never owned up to it and I mentioned some jargin about something was in the terms when you sign up. I just got fed up with it all. Unfortunately I still use paypal. Wished there were other services.

Good luck. I'm already filing a ic3.gov complaint and I've already contacted the baker police department. Obviously I have no way of knowing but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the bikes he's parting out are stolen. Probably alot of trouble over $65 but screw him, let the police do their job and pay him a visit and check it out/run the vin# etc. At least they can embarrass him a little by showing up at his house and I can get my money's worth.

A slang term for woman with low morals and poor hygene. Derived from 'Skeezy', a variant of the word 'Skeevy', meaning filthy or stained with fecal matter, urine and/or semen

Newbie

Sounds like a really bad time for a new guy to try to sell something on this list.
Think I'll hang in here for awhile before I try to sell my Super Hawk.

Moose, lots of new guys post here. Do not be discouraged. If you come here to **** with us or even one of us, you're going to be publicly humiliated, your personal identity information will be released to countless agencies, and we'll call your Mom just to check in. As long as you treat people here as members of a brotherhood that can be trusted you can post any deal in the book. Good luck!
