I sent my payment in last night. Give it a few days. Like he said in an earlier post - he needed some orders up front to buy stock etc. I'd rather do the front and be the first in line to get the brace - sounds like you are too.

I missed the deal on the group buy that happened a while a go but I wasn't sure about the fit on that one anyway. This will happen. chill

Ok and another stupid SH newbie question. What are fork supports, what are they used for and does anyone have any pics?

A fork brace ties the two forks together to allow them to brace each other. This means less flexing of the front end and more predicable control when riding hard.

Here is the page on the whole design process etc: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=18125

If I hadn't swapped out my forks I'd be getting one of these..

Truck: Do USD forks benefit from a fork brace, and are you going to make a 50mm version?

If I may chime in...

It really depends on the forks you're swapping to. I know the 929/954 triples are pretty chunky, and the forks are 50mm vice 41mm where they're attached to the triples. I don't think it's necessary for 929/954/1000RR/RC51 swaps.

GregN,
Do you think this mod is really beneficial for a RaceTech kitted (valves/springs)
stock forK?

He's gonna say, yes! It's not the shock up and down - it's the flex in the tubes - front to back and side to side.

I think the tubes are fine for lighter riders in the under 190lb range. The fork brace helps here a lot.

Billet triples (I'm working on that) are next for me. I'm 165 but I put it out there. They're wiggly - Chas really puts is out there - he's lighter than I am and says it's almost a tank slapper. This is entirely due to the flimsy construction of the stock triples.

USD, or up side down, forks, especiallu beefy ones like 929, 954 or rc51 units are very stiff compared to the stock hawk forks.

The upper diameter, were most of the stress is at the forks, is larger and therefore stronger. Therefore no brace needed.

Will a fork brace help modified stock forks? ABSOLUTELY!! Valving and springs are really great for the bumps, but where the fork brace helps is controlling the gyroscopic forces of the front wheel. Resulting in more precise handling and steering feel.

Again do this little test. stand in front of your bike clamping the front wheel with your legs. try to turn the front end with the bars. You will find out the front end flexes ALOT, this is what the brace eliminates

+1 on pics plus maybe a review from a customer who has one. I've been gone so this is the first time I've seen this thread, but I'm very interested...

I got all excited today thinking that my brace had arrived. He got the color right but not the product. Does anyone know of a good way to contact him? I would like to keep the cct's for my dad's bike but I still want my fork brace.
