Can Anyone help me?

I just bought a 98 Superhawk and got a couple days of riding out of it before it died. I thought hopeful and maybe it was something simple like a bad battery since it wouldn't start and the gauges wouldn't come on. so i bought a new battery and put that on there and it ran fine for a bit but the gauges gave out when i was riding and a little farther down the road the engine cut off. the owner before me just put in a new voltage regulator rectifier and he said it could be the stator. he also said a great place to get one is electrosport in california. what do you guys think it could be, and where would be a good place to get one, and how much work could this be?

Never heard of electrosport, but stay away from electrex stators. I have used them a couple of times and only had a 50% positive result with them. I would pay the extra and get direct from honda.

did you check for resistance where the stator plugs into the r/r?

IIRC, Electrosport is the new (renamed) Electrex.

http://www.customrewind.com/ in Alabama does nice work. He did a bang up great job on my CB750F stator and rotor. Looked better than OEM Honda parts and the stator even came with a new wiring harness and connector ready to go.

If you have to replace your, you might give hima call.
