Carb adjustments

So I know there is plenty of topic on this already but allot of the posts are not very clear on mods to carb setup. I have only a delkavic slip ons with out the DB killer and a 4° advancer. Everything seems ok but not perfect. I have a slight flat spot or something at 4000 rpms when holding constant speed. So I was going to set the bike with 48 pilots 2 turns out and shim the stock needles .030 and .040 like hawk suggested. What do you guys think?

With stock airbox and filter, probably won't need the shims, just the larger pilots, and 2 1/4-3 turns out on slow speed

rktdoc is referring to the idle mixture/fuel screws. Not to be confused with slow jets, which would be your pilots.

ok so i have only ridden my hawk about 3 times since i put the 48 pilots in. i am having one issue. when i start it at a cold start it and pull the choke it runs at 2000rpms then after thirty seconds it starts to fall slowly and dies. i have my a/f mix screws at 2.5 turns out i assume that this is the problem. was thinking of turning them in about a half turn. what do you guys think?

I didn't see him mention anything about a stock airbox and filter... did I miss something?

Question, look down at your choke ****, is it staying pulled out, or is it self retracting?
