This winter`s mods/upgrades
So here is what will be done to my trusty old VTR before it rolls out this spring:
- replace stock ignition module with HRC unit (30 second job, I know)
- install Krankvent crankcase (vacuum) breather system
- install deceleration intake vacuum relief system (reduce engine breaking and prevent rear wheel lock up)
- replace air filter (diffuser) on Flo-Commander
- re-pack my Akrapovic cans (have two Akra re-packing kits waiting to go in)
- replace rear brake reservoir tube (with one more resistant to brake fluid)
- try to get my RC51 tach working
- replace the VFR800 R/R with a Shindengen MOSFET unit
-replace OEM sidestand with 2004 CBR1000R unit
- install titanium front axle
- fix taillight (is moving around on the clutch side, have to get in there and see what the problem is)
On the aesthetic front:
- remove Ohlins stickers and re-paint rear hugger satin black (is currently flat black)
-paint fork lowers satin black
- touch up Akra headers pipes (with flat black high-temp exhaust paint)
- install MBLS carbon tank protector
- replace clutch and front brake reservoir cover with Carbon World carbon units
I will also start working away on a spare set of carbs I picked up with an eye to eventually replacing the ones that are in there now (have 100,000 miles on them).....
I plan on getting it dynoed again the spring (re-installed a BMC street filter). I have not had it tested since I had the cams re-timed and added DLC coated tappets (though it seems to have picked up significant steam in the process, based on my seat-of-the-pants impressions). These changes, together with the HRC ignition (and Krankvent?) will hopefully catapult me over the 130 bhp and 80 lb-ft targets I had set for the bike when I decided to proceed with the rebuild.
I have to get around to weighing the damn thing too (shooting for 400 lb wet)......

So the Arrow exhaust is going to get sold??
That's a hell of a list! My off season mods will be new fork springs (on the way!) and a new front tire. I wanted to trim a few inches off my D&D's, but that may wait.

Works really well and easy to do!
