Fork swap?

Need to put a stronger front end together, right now I have the stock forks with racetech springs. They just feel sloppy to me.... What would be an easy bike to swap forks with, and where can I find them?

The addition of a fork brace makes a significant difference too. In the end, there are many optuions available to you depending on how much you want to spend and how much better you want things to be.

I think if you do a search for "GSXR fork" or "CBR fork" you'll find several threads where a few of us have outlined our fork swaps. It's not exactly plug-n-play, but certainly well worth the effort!

I think the reason these guys are jumping on you is they don't know anything about you. If you're a newbie to liter bikes, you don't have enough experience to know what is loose. If you're an experienced rider with substantial mileage you could make the statement stick. But why a Superhawk? If you're body weight is on the lower side a fork brace could do everything you need.

And obviously you're new to the site. Welcome - but please take some time to look around.

You can get pretty good control from reworked stock forks and a brace. If you go with a swap plan on spending the time and money getting things set up correctly.

Well, yeah, it is, but....

It took a long time to get where I am. Between the parts searching, the difficulty finding clip-ons that work, constant adjustment to said clip-ons, minor tweaks to the controls, and fiddling with suspension setup I'd say I about broke even with the cost/time vs. results with the project.

Hell, I'm just now getting bar ends for it from Convertibars (because THEY only make bar ends that fit THEIR bars) delivered Tuesday. Yeah, the suspension feel is awesome! Yeah, the brakes rock! Why, just today I was dragging knee a mile from my house on the way back from a day long ride! Okay, maybe it IS worth it....

Here is my adventure: https://www.superhawkforum.com/forum...ad.php?t=17505

I ended up with a 954 swap after all that mess. It's the easiest one. :P

Second easiest maybe. While not USD, the 96-97 900RR swap is as easy as it gets!

Thanks for the feedback, I'm plannin on doin this job soon..... And as far as my bike goes It has about 45,000 miles on it, I bought it new in 2005. The stock forks are still on it and are a lil bent now. I rebuilt them and put racetech parts in them..... They felt good for a while, I've just been ridin my other bikes and it feels like I could make the bike more responsive with a set on inverted forks. Thanks for all the info guys! apreciate it, and as far as thee negative attitude, Why? I know I'm new to the site and ****, but I'm just lookin for help like everyone else. Sorry I didnt introduce myself and give you my life story man. My name is will, I recently moved to St. Louis From Orlando. I'll be postin more now that I figured out about how the forum works, Thanks again for all the feedback, later

Don't sweat it. At the risk of sounding like I'm speaking for others (I'm not), some folks will get a little weird when new people show up because you never really know what they are up to. I guess it's because we've all been irritated by spammers and such. Once you look around a bit I think you'll find this forum to be full of awesome people who are very willing to help. Just don't ask what oil to use!

You can, however, start up a new discussion on the fastest colour, haven't had one of those in a while now

With that said, though, search is the first step when one has a question. (You never know when a subject has been beat to death by the forum already.)

Sometimes the search info is just plain wrong - And then it is time to speak up.

YELLOW - couldn't be more obvious...

FYI - they are both Ø41mm. Even the inverted forks are measured by the steel chrome plated tube. The inverted forks are much more rigid due to the design though. Keep us up to date on your progess. Better yet, start a new thread with all of the details on what you are doing to get it fitted.
