Braced my swingarm finally...

Had the 900rr brace sitting around for a while and just decided to do it. Had to go get a bottle of argon first and that ****'s expensive. I have not welded aluminum in a while without a spool gun and I also forgot it is a bitch lol. I polished it all with a wire wheel after and then painted with metalic aluminum paint. I hope it will last a while, but It looks pretty for now...

Nice job.
I may very well be in the market for one also.
I was wondering if there are any fabricators on the board that would do the fabrication for a fee if I provided the superhawk swingarm and the brace donor swingarm?
If anyone knows of anyone I would sure appreciate a heads up.
Thanks, Walt

I can do the fab work. It's my profession and I have done it before for member Trinc. He recently sold it so it is on someone elses bike now. Anyways PM me if you are interested.

Thanks guys

I am hoping trident decides to let me build from scratch on the brace. I did the 900rr brace and while it works the fit could and would actually be better if I built it myself. The swap is a little bit of a pain too since the brake mount has to be changed for the 900rr caliper bracket too plus all the cutting, then all the parts sourcing for everyone, also all the poor 900rr owners are all the sudden going to find their swing arms are missing . (Its hard for me to destroy something perfectly good too).

All in all I think I can have really good success with a custom brace and not have to change out the caliper so a win for everyone. I will post pictures when the work begins.

If anyone has a swingarm to sell for cheap, i'll buy it and ship to Corn and be his tester.

Who's got a spare swingarm? I checked Inderockers Ebay store and he doesn't. I'm not ready to put my up for the winter yet and take mine off.

sorry to thread jack lol...but what a huge difference. I noticed it is soooo much stiffer in the rear. It feels very point and shoot with the way it leans. Im still not sure if I like it for the street yet, but I guess I'll get used to it.

Cornandp I would certainly appreciate you doing a custom brace. I have been away from the house all weekend with very limited Internet access. Please message me and let me know if your still up for it, and where to send the swingarm.
Thanks, Walt

Thanks for the heads up Hawk. He had already responded to me before I could see this post. He is some kind of trooper. I am just wishing him the best in a speedy recovery. His health and recovery are far more pressing.
Cheers, Walt
