VTR Of The Month - May 2010 - Winner: SPRHK!
While I can always hope for a surge in last minute votes... it is starting to look suspiciously like congratulations may be in order for SPRHK.
Way to make a comeback, and very nice Superhawk!

Honestly, My vote was VEEERY nearly gonna go the other way. See, i had a VJ21 RGV250 prior to the Storm hence my handle, 2Smoker, which was a dark grey color (nb: American spelling instead of the 'correct' colour!!) taken from the 2008 Ford Explorers called "Ego" that looked F4Rk1N mean on white rims. I'M A SUCKER FOR WHITE RIMS!!!
I am aware however, they don't suit ALL bikes of which i would've thought the VTR was one.. Luis proved me wrong.
Simply one or two minor details he adopted had me with terrible indecision.
Nevertheless, congrats SPRHK.. well deserved win.
Olaf.. Keep your chin up mate & remember, at least you're proud enough to ENTER your bike unlike myself! haha
"RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!"

Actually my vote went to Olaf... Not a pity vote in the least, since I actually like the way he goes about his mods... Practical, functional mods before bling-bling... He keep the stock fender because it has a function to him, not because of looks, lack of looks... Instead he upgrade brakes/suspension... I like that thinking...
Congrats on the win SPRHK...

Practical, functional mods before bling-bling
Exactly why SPRHK got MY vote. Although we don't know the order in which his mods transpired, it is evident race-tech has been utilised. 6 pot Tokico calipers mated with the EBC pads addresses the braking issue, BUT.. the removal of the gaudy & extremely overweight stock cans in favour of the high mount exhausts (of whatever flavour) indicate the owner is somewhat discerning. Not for the visual aspect whatsoever obviously, but for performance (practicality & function represented) and personal aural satisfaction.
Basically, it is of my belief that your vote WAS cast due to pity especially since it was at the forefront of your mind plus the start of your post.
*Don't mean to create any ripples by this, my comments are simply in jest*
what's more, my humour IS geographically motivated ie: Upside-Down
In all seriousness though, Practicality & Function should be the primary motivation for any mod. If at the same time that should enhance the Form, or, "Bling" if you will.. then BONUS. Otherwise, personally, for each performance mod i try to reciprocate with a cosmetic one to keep my own interest up and to guarantee that i've created something UNiQUE!!

The vote for Olaf wasn't a pity vote... More encouragement... He's gone from being the forums token "unmodded OEM holdout" to a nice list of functional mods in short time... And I fear he might be snowballing already... We have a spot reserved for him in the OCMD club...
As for my own bike... I couldn't care less how it looks... As long as it goes like stink I'm happy... The looks are entirely a by-product of the go-faster mods...

Ok, guys i get it.
My bike is extremely good loocking and all stock, so it doesn´t has any value for you in the VTROTM scenario, right?
It doesn´t matter cause next month (or the other, depends on some parts arrivals) you´ll gonna see a great unique bike.
Nevertheless, it was a lots of fun race!

Um... No, don't take it that way... I like your bike... A lot... But I do value go over show... So when I have to make a choice (Only one vote!) I do choose the one's modded for performance vs the one with the very nice cosmetic updates... In fact like I said earlier, this was the closest one yet... Not only in votes, but in making it hard to choose as well...
Ahh, just for that i´ll run again for sure next VTROTM.
A Tweety compliment is a Tweety compliment
Will you run again with me Olaf?
I think i read somewere that you were under-contractual obligations...
I do really like your bike and the way you keep it stock.

Thanks again to everyone (all 19 of you ) who voted for my bike, to Luis and Olaf, and to Inderocker, who's computer "expertise" helped out in the picture dept.
Olaf and Luis, good luck next time.
