Getting the SuperHawk ready to go to Big Bob's Circus at BlackHawk Farms Raceway, South Beloit this weekend. Even though I quit racing 4 years ago, every spring I like to do a track day to get back in the groove. Going to turn 68 in June. My barber asked today what I was doing this weekend....he said he didn't even know of any 68 y/o's that ride a sportbike!

That's a hike from from C-U! Gridlife?
I'm your age and still bend it in. A buddy is 72 and fast as lightening. Raced till last year but still does Motovid track day coaching as BHF.
Well, maybe not today, but last week. I rode my VTR1000F through Bryce National Park in Utah and also road Highway 12 (one of America's top 5 scenic rides).
This week I finally got to fix some damage from the PO. Installed a new rear brake pedal (photo), pressed in new waterpump seals and installed the new clutch cover, dropped and reinstalled the oil pan to remove some small chunks of the old clutch cover and cleaned the oil strainer (pretty clean already). Tank removed to clean out old gas. Then off with the front fairing to get prepped for replacing the ACCT's this next weekend. Got a new fuel damper assy on the way too. With any luck I'll get to ride her before Fall. (The 1984 Anniversary Edition 300ZX in the background has only been in storage since 2009 to give you an idea of my project car/bike bandwidth)
Putting it back to street after a track day. Then going to Western WI for some riding. Wonder how my 1 day used track tires, Pirelli Diablo SC3's will like being downgraded to street use....Looking forward to finding out.
Another one of those...."while I'm in here" projects: R&R upgrade.
Not sure if this has been done before but I designed/made a plate to accommodate a Shindengen FH020AA R&R that requires no drilling or cutting of the bike frame or extending the OEM harness.
You just have to be confident enough to cut off the old terminals and crimp new ones on.
Nice work on the plate and a bit of genius along the way. 👍
Trying to make something like that would be a bit of a stretch for me but I did mount mine as shown, have no problems with cowl fitting, and used original mounting screw. 👍 Ain't pretty but it works and won't fall off. 😂😁🤫

New rubber installed. Always a startling transformation. Never again will I suffer through worn tires that deliver ***** handling. Didn't want to ride it was so bad.

What'd ya get? I just asked bike shop boss to order me a set of Michelin Power5's.
I recently spooned on with my NoMar a set of Bridgestone S22, mighty fine doughnuts! And a steal with their $50 rebate! Much sportier than the PR4 I had on. Zoom Zoom said my also fastest red Mazda 3S!!!!
It's off to get new tires and the carbs refurbished So i can squeeze in a first ride before the rainy season.
If I had another helper to help me compress the front suspension a bit more, I could have left the fairing/windscreen attached.
Stoked i didn't have to rent a trailer.
Shoot, almost 6yrs later and the forkseals and racetech kit still sitting on the shelf in the shop.
Purchased f4i calipers and mc, will go with new lines and do the front end upgrade finally, buddy of mine is after me to get on it.
I hope it handles midcorner bumps like the Africa Twin, which is unflappable.
Wellitsy wellitsy wellitsy, almost 6yrs later AGAIN and those same parts are still on the shelf and the bike is wounded. It's only running on one cylinder and I lost the dash function somehow.
i'm going to yoink the carbs and have a look. I put a little fuel down the carbs individually and both cylinders seem to fire. The gauges worked 6wks ago so I don't know what to think.
A little 3D printing project.
I needed a license frame since it's registered now. The rear fender was chopped savagely by the PO.
Also the indicators collided with the high mount Scorpion exhaust so they needed to be angled up for clearance. SPACEBALLS THE LICENSE PLATE FRAME.
License plate STL File can be downloaded here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5912794

Installed a INNOVV K3 front and rear camera, with a custom 3D printed camera mount that replaces the rear tail reflector.
A mount for a Garmin nav display: Garmin Mount Garmin mount 2
Also fabbed a set of user bsabloke designed handlebar extenders. I 3D printed a set before I stumbled upon his10yr old thread where he made some out of 7/8" aluminum rod,
so i scrapped mine and ordered some bar stock from Mcmaster and made my own. paired with some blind spot mirrors, I can finally see behind my shoulders.
