Jealous of all the super clean low mileage bikes posted here recently.
Pulled mine out of the garage a few days ago and rode it to work twice. Now its cold and snowing again.
Looks decent but there is 60,000 miles of dirt, dust, and rain under the bodywork.
A sad day, the SH was sold today and left for its new home in Indiana
New owner is a nice young girl who really likes the beast, I hope she takes as good of care of the bike like I did. Godspeed to the bike and Meghan the new owner.
And there she goes...
Super clean bike there and agreed that hopefully the new owner maintains it just as much!! Where abouts in Indiana is it headed out of curiosity? I’m just south of Fort Wayne, IN...maybe I’ll be lucky to see the new duo around lol
In other news...to submit what I’ve been doing to my SuperHawk lol
Been over the course of a couple days, not just today...but working on full service for the season... Fitting a new integrated tail light... Along with other assorted accessories/replacement parts.
Found a pin-hole leak in the left-side radiator, got a new Honda replacement but now they come in black apparently? Matched the right-side so they aren’t oddball looking lol. I think black with the aluminum mesh will look nice but subtle.
Found some old-school LP signals that should do alright until-if I opt for a different route. Picked some 32mm Renthal grips as my OE ones spun loose, and got a PowerBronze under tail and lower fairing set that I sent off to get color matched. Ordered paint from ColorRite Friday so waiting on that to come in and then on to reassembly! 😄👍🏻
I installed some CF high mount Jardine RT1s,my bike is actually quieter now.
I ran a pair of those for a few years. Keep a close eye on the condition of the carbon at the rivets, especially at the inlet. Carbon isn't a forever material for exhaust. Have any pics to share?
Installed manual CCTs over the weekend. I picked them up on EBay from Krieger, here is the information on his card if anyone needs it - www.clems-garage.com; Mark a Krieger kriegercct@clems-garage.com Delaware, OH 303-340-2655. I joined this site last month and appreciate all the information out here.

Had an awesome night ride with my team last night, I was leading and I was really pushing it, despite of the older technology the bike complied with every demand perfectly, the thrill of riding it, pushing it to the edge, the feedback and being forgiving bike, it is still one of my favorite bikes of all times and I don't care that people don't understand what the hell this bike is, like yesterday at the bar after the ride!
I just can't express how much I still love the VTR!
This is what I did Thursday morning. My visor fogged up and I took a turn too sharply, hit the curb. Poor baby girl. I ended up with bruised ribs, a fractured radius, and a freeked out wife.
Went for a great ride today and the bike reached 70,000ks !
This happens about 40ks from home as I was about to start the ride down my two favourite mountain roads.
How ironic , the place my bike loves the best and what I built it for.
Intended to just do an oil change and then go for a ride, but I made the mistake of cleaning around the oil filter and it evolved into cleaning all around the bottom of the engine and big time around the kickstand. Lots of old chain lube no longer there.
Then went for the ride!
Put the stock 16t front sprocket back on. Mounted last season's Ducati race tires..only one weekend of use... on the DucHunter in prep for our yearly TX Hill Country winter stay.
I bolted on the 43 tooth rear sprocket from Supersprox! That makes it 16/43 and it is a very nice ratio, compared to the 15/43 or the 16/41, I prefer this one hands down. Next I'm going to dig into the airbox lid removal...wish me luck.
Ace, did you run into fit issues with stock sprocket nuts? I bought the same sprocket but the stock nuts strike a part of the sprocket and don’t sit flush. Also doesn’t sit flush on the carrier... I may have a defective part but supersprox customer service has left me in the dark.

Fit like a glove, no issues at all. Sorry to hear about that. If you want a 41 with low miles I'll trade straight up. I'm sure i can make your fit mine.
And the airbox lid remove is actually a pretty good mod for my bike. It needs quite a bit of tuning in the low end but up top it's a monster. Kinda loud but kinda good too. I think I'll put it back though, it is a bit much for daily...
Looked at it longingly...was planning on doing a ride out of state next week...Place I planned on staying is closed due to the fookin' COVID 19 thing. Fortunately for me, my wife still believes the medical marijuana is for my arthritic knees....
