My SuperHawk, the DucHunter, and I had a talk today. We have a track day next month at BHF's and about 10 days later I get a total replacement for my right knee. Then the weekend after Labor Day we have scheduled a ride in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin, and the next Monday my left knee is to be totally replaced. I told DucHunter to be kind. Then I had another beer.
Got up early this morning before work, and drilled 4 1/2" holes in each exhaust... I am sure the neighbors were thrilled...On the way home I am picking up vinyl to make a new seat cover...

As someone that has had a total knee replacement (although it wasn't scheduled... ) Make sure to do every bit of PT they recommend... You will be fine...

As an old m'cycle road racer and a part time dual sport rider...I am no stranger to PT...and a firm believer in it. The reason my Sports Medicine Ortho guy..since early 2000, signed off on me getting both knees replaced at the same time...However, Covid 19. I do not want to go to a rehab facility...therefore..3 August and then 4-6 weeks later for the other. Actually been doing PT for almost a month now to get ready. It's a job that you hate to go to...but you do. Thanks for the support!
Not sure how much HP I will get from the gold wheels.... But I got em... RC51 front CBR900rr rear
Had a hard time finding the spacer I needed to run the 954 bearings in the rc front wheel... Then it hit me... One of my other hobies is bicycle building, and I had a threadless stem tube that is 25.4 id and 28.6 od... Perfect... Out comes the tubing cutter, and BLAM!!! Spacer... 1 1/8 chromo bicycle steer tube RC on the left, "Custom" on the right..
Now I am ready for the front end swap..... Yummmm
I got some smalls to replace some stuff that went missing when we went down. Replaced both front signals and realized I need the hole grommet. Then I couldn't find the chin fairing hardware. Won't be long she'll be back on the road.
I do have an oem Superhawk decal for that import panel. And I bought a new Cortech tailbag and mounted it. Still need to buff the paint. I'm excited to try the new M4. I have yet to ride it since that went on.
Went for an early morning ride to see if my knackered knees will be able to handle a BHF's Motovid Track Day the week before I have TKR on my right knee. There will be no right knee dragging, but...I'll be there.
Changed my clutch plates (steels and friction), springs and a fresh oil/filter change. Also installed a new gold Oberon clutch slave cylinder. Look at that lovely bluing on the steels 😁

Started off the morning by getting intimate with my valvetrain.... Valve adjustment, and tensioner adjustment, along with a set of plugs. Ended the day by adding an Aprilia rsv1000 front fender... Much smaller than the rc51, or cbr part. Even came in red...
Going to spend the rest of the evening with some vinyl, and my Singer making a seat cover..
Was a thrash last night. Got the All ***** tapered rollers in the head, swapped: fork springs (DMr .95s), bars, complete front brake system (keeping F4i calipers), levers, windscreen, ….
It’s like working on a bike fresh off the showroom floor. This race came right off without trouble.
Previous session. Swapped swingers and shocks, exhaust, rear sprockets,

Nice setup you have there. 😍👍
Well I'm happy to say I've done absolutely nothing on the bike I a while. 😩🤦♂️😞
2 weeks and work begins again with some good progress. 🤙
1 year I've had this bike. Ride it once and here she stands. 😞🤷🏼♂️

I worked full time at that bike shop for several years and I’m just a part timer now. Boss went on vaca so I took over the place. Wish I had 1 lift let alone 2!
Progress last night.
After swapping this to blue, it felt like a pogo stick, so I put the DMr unit on till I can get it rehabbed.
Fresh Kriegers! And brandy new F4i shock (and fork springs).
Unfortunately this chain is too short for the larger rear sprocket. Looks like I’ll be ordering up a replacement.
Dug it out of the back corner of the shop, washed it, and tore it to pieces. Its time to get back on the SH........
I have not ridden anything but our trainer bikes for more than a year for test rides after service.
Went to work full time during Covid, after hours working on the training fleets, and just had no motivation to work on my own bikes.
After 9 years, of coaching, fleet mechanic, and fleet manager I resigned from the training company. And like that I walked through the shop........and wanted to build.
