What did you do with your SuperHawk today?
Not really sure but I think top of 4th. Hit 95mph by 1/8 mile. Most fun I've had on it for a while. Usually have about 7 or 8 beers under my belt by 9:00 on a Friday night, but this was way more fun. Didn't race against anyone but would've gotten spanked anyway by the stretched gxr's and zx14's.
Rode to the Jersey Shore from Lehigh Valley, mostly backroads along the Delaware then through the Pine Barrens. There's nothing in the PBs, keep riding, plus the straight roads, it's like Fla but without the blue haired drivers trying to kill ya...

Took the hawk to get doughnuts this morning. Had a strange experience last night when I hit a power bog and the bike lost rpms and decelerate rapidly. Happened 3 times in a 10 mile ride. Put some hi octane gas in the bike after removing the existing gas she's back up and running like a pro.
Today will be modding the stock shift lever. Will post pics of the project.

Messed up the front end in a slow rear end. ****
I thought the pick up in front of me went while merging, well he went then stopped. I moved up while looking back & boom I'm down.
Headlight not working & fairing is askew.
I'm so pissed off. I'll tear into it this weekend.... ****

Sorry about your unfortunate incident. Post up what parts you need in the classifieds.
It's because of stories like this that I never, ever assume the person in front of me is doing what they are supposed to do. I always ride (and drive) thinking everyone around me is a freakin' moron and cannot drive.

Sorry for misfortune nnjhawk02. Glad damage is mainly cosmetic.
I know what you mean. I have actually kicked the drivers window of a white Cadillac STS that was coming over in my lane with a Q-Tip at the wheel. Apparently the old fart had no peripheral vision and since he was as old as a T-Rex, didn't even bother to turn his head slightly, or hell, even care about the outcome of the lane maneuver.
You think that's bad, try driving with my wife. She's blonde!

So, the entire brace hasn't been welded on? It looks like the inside of the rear of the brace hasn't been welded.
Just one question, do you want to test the strength of your welders welds?
Edit: If I was to ever ask a welder to weld something for me, I would assume that would mean they would weld the entire part, not just tack it in place and charge you more to finish it. Really sounds like a lazy welder that just doesn't care.

Its not welded yet. Want to clean it up properly and work out if i want to fill it in.
Oh! Duh...I now know what you meant Spokes. Your picture is a little blury. I thought you were talking about the welding of the actual brace.
You can fill in the right side, but how much of the left side can you really fill in with the chain going through there? Would the extra weight be worth it? Welding the brace onto the swingarm made it plenty stiff already. I would think the extra work and $$$, and also unsprung weight wouldn't be worth it. Just my opinion.

The chain side i would fill in as much as I could while leaving room for the chain. I will make my mind up over the weekend. Filling in the sides could make it look **** as well. Will only do it if Im convinced it will make it stiffer. I do have some 3mm plate.
Like this, pic found on here somewhere.

Up next....work what else
Where did my Sh go today? One side of the shop to lift#2
New chain and front sprocket, make a dash to be molded onto the gauge cover, fit and install the hugger from AirTech (what a pain), add the gear position light voltage gauge and digital clock to the dash.

LOL, yup guilty as charged.. I posted as I was headed out the door to teach class.... got to get them new riders on the road don't you know.
but excuses are like ********, everybody has them and no body cares....lol
So now that I'm home after class I'll post some pics.
The dash is made from Lexan for now, carbon fiber is the next step after proof of concept.

It does not have much room, but enough for what I want now.
Gear position, voltage meter and clock.
This one will attach with some epoxy, the CF one will have a L shape at the bottom for a direct mechanical attachment to the housing.
The AirTech hugger made for the 900RR is a very rough fit part as it comes, requiring fitting, finish and of course paint.

Here it is trimmed to fit my brace, drilled for the 4 black aluminum M6 screws that will be the mechanical connection.. I will asl use 3M mounting tape so it has a full length attachment, less wiggle and hopefully no stress cracks in the very thin fiberglass at the attachment points over the long haul.

Won't get to play with it anymore till monday morning as 12 hours on the range Sat & Sun in the sun and heat will do me in.
