welding exhaust?

ive got a problem, my exhaust needs to either have some real big rivets put into it or i need to tack it or something. the holes have worn and the thing moves around alot. its a jardine sp1 exhaust, can i weld the body to the end cap or is it aluminum or what? i havent checked yet and im too tired to go and look right now from todays track day but id like some input on fixing it.

Well the sleeve should be Aluminum and the end cap is Stainless so you won't be able to weld them.

Your only real choice is some blind rivets but you have to be careful and get the correct grip length and head size as well as the correct shank diameter. You have to use blind rivets or "pop-rivets" since you can't get to the back side of it to put a bucking bar on and swell the rivets as they are hammered. Make sure you get the closed end style so you don't have leaks.
