Torque specs on right engine crankcase/clutch case cover

Hey fellers...
I posted this question in the tech discussion forum, but didn't get any response... sorry for posting twice, but I'm planning on doing the work tomorrow (if it ever stops raining )

Hopefully one of y'all has a service manual and can look up this info for me.
I'll be installing the right side crankcase cover this weekend, but I don't know the torque specs. Any help is appreicated.
I just thought of something else... will I be able to get a short socket on the bolts? If I have to use an extention, what do I have to change on the torque wrench to adjust for the extention?

Also, if there's anything else I need to know, please throw it out there. I'm hoping it's a pretty straight forward job (drain oil, remove old cover, clean gasket goo off, replace w/ new gasket and casecover, torque to spec, fill w/ new oil) Anything else?

I'm not sure what part the crankcase cover is, but looking at my service manual, it says:

Crankcase 10mm flange bolt - 39N*m or 29lb-ft
Crankcase 10mm special bolt - 42N*m or 31lb-ft (Apply oil to the threads and seating surfaces)

HTH

Oh, and is that right about the torque wrench? That if you use an adapter, the numbers will be off?

Here's a picture of the cover... it's the engine cover w/ the oil fill hole and oil level sight window.

I'm just going by what I was told re. the extention.... was someone BSing me?
Damn I wish the bike was right outside (it's at my parent's house about 20 minutes away).... i could just go out there to see what the hell they're talking about when they say "flange" and "special" bolt

Thanks for the quick help!!!

I'm having trouble finding that same picture in my service manual.

The specs I gave you are incorrect for the picture and descriptions you gave to me. Sorry!

I'll keep digging through my manual to see if I can find what you're looking for.

8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
Well that is usually referred to as the clutch cover and there is no torque spec listed in the manual for those bolts. So just tighten them down kind of tight and you will be fine.

I usually go to 7 or 8 ft. lb. on those little 6mm bolts.
