Ticking noise after long ride?

it speeds up with engine rpm, and only manifests itself after i've been riding for a while(30mins +)

if i kill it and let it sit and cool off for 15-20 minutes, the sound goes away

any ideas?

Diagnosing sounds over the internet is like having a blind person judge paint colors!

Maybe a valve that loosens up while warm or it could be nothing. What is a noise to one rider is normal engine noise to another.

Anytime I see the "ticking" I think exhaust leak first. Check up near the cylinder as best you can. This can be tough on the rear. Use a piece of hose and see if you can isolate a general area the sound is coming from.

Does it still have the stock Cam Chain Tensioners? If so my bet it that is the chain slap you are hearing.
