So I went down last night *PICS*

poor bike

scratched my right side mirror, bar end, cracked the front fairing, cracked the crankcase cover, and dented and scratched the crap out of the exhaust canister

i'm losing oil out of the crankcase, so if anyone happens to have that part lying about, let me know what you want for it shipped to 73075...the rest i can live with, but if you have a good deal on the front fairing, i'd sure look at it

oh, and i got some roadrash on my right leg and elbow, nothing major...that's what i get for riding with just a helmet and gloves

anyway, on with the pics

Glad you came out ok. I'm guessing from the look of the bike that it was a rain crash.

I have a RS engine case that I will sell. I bought it to replace one that I rashed when I crashed. It turned out that one I bought (used) was also rashed so I just left the original on the bike.

How much, you ask?

Dunno what they're worth new, but how does $100US plus shipping sound? If we're sending across the US/CDN border I highly recommend using the mail systen (Express Post), otherwise you'll get dinged by UPS for their 'Expiditing' fees.

Ping me offline if you are interested.

geoffrey dot helmes at sympatico dot ca.

Cheers!

AC COBRA
you can also weld the right case easily, or a welder can anyway

my friend went down and put a hole in his clutch case in a similar place, a little smaller, I tigged it back up, ground it flat and matched the contours, he painted it with kyrlon spraypaint that matched the original piant, 10k later it still looks like the day it rolled off the showroom floor

Just an option if you want to save a little money and dont want to worry about the waperpump from a used cover

+1 on what AC Cobra says.

A good metal guy can clean that up like it never happened. Prolly for cheaper than buying used.

I just checked Ron Ayers and they list the cover at $165US plus shipping.

My earlier post was out of line. I'll sell the one I have for $50USD plus shipping. I'll post a pic if I can remember how to work the camera and interest is shown. It has some mild rash in the same general area as the damage you posted pics of.

I bought it from a salvage yard (paid more than $50 for it) so I cant vouch for the water pump impeller thingee.

Cheers!

So, doing a little post-crash inspection with Momma's makeup mirror? I shouldn't laugh because I know how bad it hurts. I broke my tailbone falling on the ice in Manysnodalot one winter and I couldn't even freekin' breathe right. It hurt something fierce. Tend to your body first and then the bike. I'm glad it wasn't worse. Growing skin is no fun.

Glad to hear you are in one piece. Did the car stop or did anyone see it and call the police?

"and i am interested in the cover,.....

Mine? or Frank's freebee? No matter, I'll post pics tonite when I get home.

I still think that AC Cobra's suggestion would be simpler/cheaper.....

"....how can i check to make sure the impeller is good to go?"

I have no idea. Any of you techies know?

If you repair/reuse your original cover, the question is acedemic....you know that the one you have works.

If you want to try an epoxy, try JB weld. I would bet anything you wouldn't have any problems this stuff works great!
