motor swap

ok new on this post and hopefuly you all can give me some advice, i have a 1998 superhawk with a 46k motor i recently bought another superhawk same year and everything, i needed it for cosmetics couldnt beat it for 600$ well i figured since the motor has a lot less miles i want to swap them. i was wondering if there is anyone that has done a motor swap and if so they have any suggestions or tricks that i need to watch out for, or any helpful hints.
thanks for any help that you may have

The swap it's self is rather easy. The only part that is a pain is getting the special tool you need for the mounting bolts. It is possible to make one or if you have the $$ you can just buy one from Honda. A search should give you all the info you need about the tool required.

Just as an FYI, you may want to wait to swap the motor out. I have ~44k on mine and it still runs strong as hell. I've seen guys post here that have a lot more than me and they are still running good. Maybe just keep the low mileage motor in your back pocket until you need it?

I agree with teh guys above - 44k on a well maintained engine is ok, and you do not know what the issues are with the swap engine. As for the tool, take a look at this thread:
