Motor exchange/ need answers quick if possible guys

Hi Guys
Changing a 1999 VTR engine with a 2000 low KLM's motor. ques 1) will the 1999 carb assembly be the same as the 2000 model to expidite the change?? Can i use em?? and second ques) 2000 motor has a VENT???? in the top of the front rocker cover?? is it OK to use the cover off the 1999 engine as it is factory sealed. This 2000 mod vent is US mod and not used in Australia. Can anyone help me plz, hoping to change motors tomorrow or saturday (Aussie time)

the swap should be fine. I just went the other way (put a 99 into a 2000 and used all same parts (carbs, coolers etc). the "vent" You are referring to might be the PAIR valve system (emissions related to put help burn unburned mix in the exhaust). Most of us that have them block them off anyway (there is a description here somewhere of how to block them off, but most people remove the screws and there is a reed valve you can turn around so it is nonfunctional, then cap off the air hose connector.

good luck

You should be ok mate. Should be a straight swap. As Bill says, the pair system is commonly blocked off anyway.
