Just installed Ape cct, Very Happy!

At about 18,000 Miles on my 2002 , there developed a noise in my front cylinder that was quite concerning and growing in intensity each week. Thanks to all the info on this board ,I assumed it was a stock cct going.

Ordered in some Ape Manual cct......and WOW! My motor sounds like it just came off the assembly line.Purrs like a kitten and no more rattle of death.

Just wanted to thank everyone on here for all of the instructions on how to do this procedure.

I send much good Karma your way!

On a side note...... my final adjustment for the Apes were finger tight, (as tight as possible with oily fingers) minus 1/2 a turn.
At this tension,it appeared to be within Ape's instructions of 1/4" to 3/8" deflection in the chain between the cams.

I am curious as to others who have installed manuals.Does this sound similar to your final adjustments?

TIA

CCT... stripped the 10mm allen cap plug on alternator cover

I let the penetrating oil soak in overnight, tapped it with a small hammer, re-oiled it and let it sit for an hour. Now I've half stripped the 10mm female hex cap on the alternator cover. Should I even bother trying to save the cap, or just start carving it up with a Dremel cutoff wheel, and buy a new one?
