LMAO..... Glad he wasn't hurt but that was funny. I think the same thing did happen earlier this year in F1.

 

Actually it looked like it sheared off. Notice at the end when he tries to put it back on and then realizes that he can't?

 

I like how he just casually tossed it aside. I think I'd have thrown it out the window or something. Sure could have ended worse.
