What's that clickin noise?

Thought I would run this by the collective mind before I start tearing into things.
My SuperHawk is making a light knocking noise for a few feet when leaving from a stop under moderate acceleration. Sounds like it's coming from bottom left. Can't hear it at idle, or when revving, or under way. Also can't hear it while loading the clutch with the front brake locked, and lugging the engine down, so I'm guessing it is drivetrain.

Chain is adjusted, but near the end of its life and reaching the replace-me adjuster marks. Other than needing more regular adjustments, the chain doesn't appear to be defective.

Is it likely the sound is only the old chain clicking on the stock front sprocket?

Thanks for reading.

see if chain has tight and loose spots. I chain is near end of life and there are stiff links it can make a clicking sound.

More than likely what rick says above - though could be airleak pulses from the exhaust if a gasket has gone which can sound like a 'clicking' noise.

Thanks y'all. I agree the tight links might be causing the problem.

Changing out the chain did the trick.
