Troubles

Today I rode the 'Hawk for maybe 20 mins, with three different starting instances. Didn't notice anything amiss until I was headed home, she wouldn't rev worth a crap under 4k, and it was rapidly deteriorating. I finally had to pull into the turning lane and off onto a side road, where the bike just died. I didn't notice any lighting or gauge problems, so I shut the ignition off and back on, and rode it home just fine.

I did the carb-washer mod last night, but I'm pretty sure I got all the lines hooked up right. Is my R/R going out? I did some searching but I'm still not sure what the problem is/could be.

Any help is appreciated.

Sure sounds electrical to me. I'd pull out a Mulitmeter and start diagnosing before I started the bike again. Hopefully it's just the battery making it's way to the great beyond.

Sounds more fuel related to me since it started back up fine without a jump would suggest the battery is ok. could be other electrical like the tps sensor plug loose though. check the voltage at rest and while running (do a search for the values you should see at what RPMs)

Doh!

I overlooked that part.

I took a Dick Carnegie reading comprehension course years ago. I guess it's time for a refresher.

At least the Dick Carnegie Memory Course I took is still with me.

Did you hook up the vacuum line to the petcock correctly?

Pretty sure both lines are correct, and I had filled the tank recently, but it wasn't overfull and I'd put 10-20 miles on it previous to this sputter

Update: I'm a dumbass, and hooked the vent line to the BOTTOM of the petcock instead of the rear, where it goes....
