Newbie troubles/draining fuel

Welcome to me. I found a terrific deal on an 05 SH but the fuel is over a year and half old. How do I drain it with the vacuum system on this model? Nothing comes out when the lines are removed....

The easiest way is to get a siphon pump from Harbor Freight or a local hardware supply, I bought one for @10.00 and it took about 5 minutes to empty the tank, which I then dumped into my car!

If the gas is that old just remove the tank and dump it out through the filler hole

Fuel draining

Discovered another way. Hooked a fuel line on the tank, other end in a fuel can. Disconnected the vacuum line, put another on it, the other end hooked to a larg syringe and created vacuum that way. Fuel drained right out.

Clever, but that doesnt address the filth, crud and sludge in the bottom of the tank. You should rinse it with some gas and shake it upside down to let the schmegma go flying out.

Clogging your carbs can only lead to great unhappiness....
