Running Lights

ok well i bought a Superhawk on Saturday driven around for quite a bit and all the running lights where working awsome then I took my GF for a quick 2min ride and when we came back the Left Front and Right Rear Signal running light was off then 10min later when i went out to see if i could find the issue both back ones are off and the Left front is off so the only working one is right front I tried everything i could think of any ideas?

Also all the Turn signals work perfectly its only the running lights

I swapped the bulb from the good one so its not a bulb
I unplugged cleaned and replugged all connectors
I wiggled all harness's etc

I just dont get what could cause 3 lights to turn off all at once.

Re: Running Lights

The rear turn signals don't have running lights, just the front. The stalks might've gotten switched around. There should be color coded connectors on them that may help you. Hope this helps.

Could be the relay. How many miles does the bike have on it? The turn signal relay tells all turn signals when to come on/flash/etc.

Re: Running Lights

Are you running OEM or aftermarket lights? if they are oem i would check the relay switch, fuses, connections if they are aftermarket i would make sure you have the lights connections on correctly. I had a similar incident that was brought on by me connecting the wrong wire to the ground and switching the running lights with the turn signal part.

why they went out then like that is a mystery

If I'm not mistaken the fronts have 3 wires and the rears have 2. Only the fronts will be running lights, the rears don't have the wiring for that. You can tell if its a bulb because the signal will flash very fast.

More than likely your girlfriend broke them, and she should pay for new ones.

Re: Running Lights
