RC51 VS VTR Heads

what will what won't swap?

CCT failed.. Valves all bent, Valve guides destroyed..
cheaper to swap out the head then try to rebuild this one.. However no heads listed on ebay right now.. but there is one off a 03 RC51..

Will a 2003 RC51 head fit my 2001 VTR?

It has been covered many times. The only parts that the two bikes share are some bolts and nuts, that's it.

You'd probably have more luck with the head for a smallblock V8...

The RC engine might fit in the hawk, but by the end of the build it would be cheaper for you to just go buy a RC51. I also can't see the SH frame being strong enough for the RC engine. Besides if it was a easy swap there would be many riders on this forum with that combination. Good luck

No. If you haven't already tried the search function it will work wonders-not because people don't want to answer your question but because you'll instantly get lots of info all at once since it's already been covered several times before. Little to no mods? Where are you going to bolt the swingarm to?

I tried the search.. I can't say it helped much.. maybe I was too specific.. I did find a thread on the motor swap idea.. but when I searched head.. I recived tones of stuff not really realated..

I guess I'm still hunting for a head then.. next search will be:
front Head - What years are compatible.. mine is 2001.. anyone have a quick answer for me?

Sometimes you are best to post in the wanted section. Generally you'll pick up a good part from someone who knows about the machine for less than you would on ebay.

Render,

I know youre new, and you have a lot of questions, but EVERY question you have asked so far has been covered countless times on this forum. Im not one to usually jump on a new user, but seriously man, use the search. I know its not the best, but you can always go to google, type in "superhawkforum.com" then whatever you want to search and it works wonders.

It may be cheaper to replace the head, but you will have a hard time finding a front head in good condition and it may be easier to have the guides replaced.

Render, where in Canada are you? One of us might be able to point you in the right direction.

HHHHHHHAAAAAA... I really love this topic.. This is the conversion (RC-51 engine in a S-Hawk) for some really, Really rich guys- That have alot of time, and a really good life insurance policy...
Before you began to call me "BAD" names, and degrade me for my humor..
>>>I have a "complete" set of 2001 cylinder heads for a S-hawk..<<<

My humor is justified..Honest.. I own 2 RC-51s, and more than a few S-hawks. And a few spare engines for both bikes..
And that spare RC-51 engine sitting in the stand -LoOOks pretty tempting to put in a S-hawk frame.. AND at one time (BEFORE ask the educated of this group) cured the waste of time/and money- that it would never work..
