8541Hawk will become famous soon enough
From your posts it sounds like you are trying to get it to run without the airbox installed.

If this is how you are running the bike, then that is the main problem.

I wouldnt buy a stage 1 kit assuming thats dynojet id go with a factory pro kit...

Jet kits generally come with new slow jets, various main jets and adjustable needles

And as for AFR screws... righty tighty lefty loosy lol

Id start with 1.5 turns out and go from there...

I was simply trying to see if the shutter would be resolved with the larger pilot jets.
I installed the air box shortly after and had the same issue (I think I am maxing my main jets out.)

As to getting in there to them them due to there right location or even a mod so I do not have to use tweezers to turn them?

Factory pro kit comes with?
Is it rated by stage?

Seen a jet kit on eBay sigma6 or something or other 50$ give them a list of bolt on they send you the jets..any one have any luck with these jets/company?

I think I have some factory pro needles around here somewhere I could send you. It's just needles and springs and some different jets. The springs are unnecessary if you do 8542Hawk's slide mod (look for his thread). And jets you can find locally.

7moore that would be great!!
I would really appreciate it!
I called several local shops looking for jets each one keeps trying to just buy the kit,
A larger main jet x 2= 12$
A larger pilot jet x2= 12$
(Roughly 6$ a jet)
$24 compared to 80$+ depending on brand/stage.
I will look up the slide mod and see what turns up!

Thanks again guys!

Ps an old harley guy explained that if my main jet is maxed out and i can enrichen the fuel with the afr screw then take a fine drill bit juat a little larger then the main jet and drill it out by hand then tune that according.
Hes been riding harleys since before i was even thought of said works for him everytime!
Not sure if i want to attsmpt this route.

Do not tune this like a Harley. Do not pretend it's a single barrel flat slide air cooled 45 degree v twin rather than a dual carb CV water cooled 90 degree Japanese machine. Do not drill out the jets- they are precision parts that even professional machinists would have to spend effort to mimic precisely. Totally different bikes. PM me to remind me to look for the jets tonight.

Yea theres no issue slotting it... and if i remember correctly some people have custom fabricated a tool using a metal brake line at the end that has been dented at the end to make the D shape... cant remember if its 3/16 or 1/4, some have gone far enough to make a tool with that to be able to adjust the screws with the carbs mounted.

Just a thought..

I'd get the set. The extra $14 is probably worth it isntead of driving back to the shop and wasting your time.
