New Guy with stupid filter questions
What kind of oil filters do you guys use? I heard it is ok to keep the same filter as long as you replace the seal, so is 15,000
miles too much to have on one filter? Just wondering...
Is that for Right, or Left handed filters....Fuel filter, there's a fuel filter...Ah hell this is more trouble than it's worth...Anybody wanna buy a slightly used, excellent shape 99' VTR1000 Superhawk...today only $9559.00 and I'll throw in a set of stock calipers fur free....
There's one on the right and another one on the left. The one on the right has to be changed every 15,000 miles or ten years - which ever comes first. The one on the left never needs to be changed but the oil on the seal should be freshened every year or so. Hope this has been helpful. And welcome to the forum.
Yeah! Thats along the same lines as jusifying 100k oil changes base on the notion "my bike burns four quarts every 7k miles so it should have fresh oil".
Mine doesn't work that way. I pour the oil in the top hole. It runs out the bottom hole. I drive it until the engine siezes and then I buy a new one. I don't think I can get 7K out of my oil changes. But thanks for the tip!
Whoever said that shouldn't be working on bikes. Some applications only require a filter every other oil change but no one does it this way. Buy the stupid $8 oil filter.

I'd Say we have a winner!!!! Fished in, Fished in.....
I gots to go to bed now....
Yeah I change every two thousand. As far as letting my bike seize I'm more the type to spend way too much time and money making sure my bike never falters.

That's the flux capictor for the ray gun. In laymens terms, it's a automatic tight-loose chain adjuster. Simply stick it between the sprocket and chain, then have the bike in first and hold it to redline then pop the clutch. Repeat as nessarry until chain is adjusted.
