New engine noise

Well my turn to have gremlins, this week my bike picked up a weird whining sound. Since I did not touch anything except the oil 2 weeks ago, it's not from human intervention. The whine seem to be audible between 2200 and 2600 RPM, I can hear it more on decel (thanks to my exhaust), but I can hear it even on acceleration/cruise, but very little on neutral. So it's hard to point the exact aera but my rear valve cover is quite loud.
The sounds remind me plastic gears rubbing on something. A sort of zzzzzzzzzz
As the possible causes, can a CCT become too tight and cause the timing chain to whine like this ??
A second sounds appeared about at the same time, I can hear it clutch pulled on decel almost stopped, it's a deep tone vibration, like a dry shaft on a journal.
I can hear it engine stopped on gear while moving the bike clutch pulled.
These may not be related and may have appeared at once since I gave the bike a ride for it's money.
But if they are related, the only aera where they meet is the clutch.
Any suggestions on what to check ??

You sure it's the motor?? Might be your drive chain being too tight and dry.

Drive chain too tight by chance?

Can't think of much else being the sound still occurs if the bike is off.

Chain is lubed, but the second sound could definitely be a drivetrain issue, I'll investigate this one tomorow, but it's the engine noise that is freaking me out. I dumped the clutch pretty hard those days, doing wheelies and hard pulls. The chain tension is good, maybe I have a couple bad links and the chain begs to be replaced.
The engine noise follows the RPM, so it's not part of the drivetrain.

You can try "resetting" your CCTs. Basically you remove that center bolt and use a small flat screwdriver and turn the slotted part inside about a turn, maybe a turn and a half at the most, in the CCW direction. This will pull the CCT inwards a bit. Then wind it back CW and it should set itself to the proper tension. Caution should be used if you do this that you don't allow too much slack in the cam chain otherwise you could slip one or more teeth on the cam(s). But if it's too tight this is really the only way to get it loosened back up as the spring inside only allows it to move in the tightening direction.
