I'm about to f'n scream--EXHAUST

I tried to put the stock exhaust back on this bike, and besides the problem i have with my NEW battery, when I got everything bolted back up, and finally got it started, the midpipes from my left hand exhaust (sitting on the bike)and the little flange from the rear header......yeah, BAM! they keep separating from eachother, and im getting a bad exhaust leak. WTF? anyone have any suggestions? this is pretty rudimentary, but i have taken the exhaust off and tried to put it back on twice now, and I'm starting to get pissed.

Stock mufflers, stock head pipe, do you have the exhaust gasket in place? I only ask because most slip-ons you remove the gasket.

yeah, check out bikebandit or something with the schematic. It'll show you where those asbestos gaskets have to go.

swordfish is an unknown quantity at this point
as a last resort you could get some high temp gasket sealant. but a little leak won't hurt anything. my leo vinces always leaked a little. both my local shops said not to worry about it. although if its not a little leak, then thats a different story.

I'm getting a similar leak at the same spot with the Vance & Hines S4's the PO installed. Not a big deal, but every time I hear the blattting from between my legs I wonder if my CCT's are falling apart or something.
