HID starting idea

I was half asleep on the way to work today and started to think about the issue with the hids and the bike starting. I for one keep mine shut off until the bike is started. Its a low beam only setup so I leave the high beams on. This got me thinking. What about the guys who run a dual hi low combo. There's the euro switch you can buy but what if it got wired to the kickstand. There's a switch on it that won't let the bike start and shuts it off if its in gear. So my thought is what if you use that as a trigger on the relay? Kick stand goes up hid goes on.

Get a 30 second delay relay in line with the HID Power...http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/vol_4/chpt_5/3.html

Or just turn on the bike and let the HID get fully lit -warmed up before you crank it over.

Just so long as the ballast isn't trying to start the HID bulb at the same time as the starter is turning over the engine you won't have any problems.

Don't get that delay circuit, link in my signature for for hid retrofit, I bought that kit thinking I wanted a delay, it's a cheapy kit circuit that you can buy for about 9 bucks, it fried, not designed the way that company is selling them. They put shrink tubing over the board so you can see the kit number. Lazn is right just turn the light on first. I sometimes don't do that and it's fine.
