so i changed out the front sprocket from a 16 to a 15, got the chain readjusted, and put everything back together. pulled in on the clutch, nothing. now i know that the hydrolic line runs down to the front sprocket cover, so when i took that off, i messed something up. i have never had a hydro clutch before. my tl has a cable. what do i need to do here. does it need to be bled, if so what is the process for doing that? any help is greatly appreciated. thanks

 

You need to bleed your clutch especially if the color of the fluid is black. download the service manual from the internet (google it) and go from there.

 

the clutch slave cylinder has a nipple on it to bleed it. If you ever bled the brakes, same procedure for the clutch. You might need a second hand so one can pump the cltch and the other to bleed the nipple as pressure builds.

 

i guess i am not a good egooglelizer, cause i can not find anything like that (service manuel) on the net. does anyone have one that they can email me, or point me in the direction of one? thanks.

This happens to me just about every time I pull off that sprocket cover. Silly Honda put their clutch actuator right in the middle of the sprocket cover. AZZKIKER is right, you may need to bleed your clutch now, because the piston inevitably moved when you pulled off the clutch mount. On the part that bolts to the sprocket cover there is a rubber nipple, which you remove when you bleed the system of air. Just get some plastic tubing, and bleed it the same way you would your brake lines and your clutch will be back to it's usual self.
