clutch question?

clutch question?
couple things, first off, how tight do the springs get tightened down for the clutch, and second, my ferodo clutch came in, and 8 plates look like they have a paperish material of some kind and 2 look like its something else. where do i put the two odd ball plates in conjunction with the other ones? heres a pic

Is the paper just covering the friction material? Maybe they added 2 plates in addition to a cluch kit from another bike? You should just have friction and steel alternating. Not friction, steel and paper.

Ill double check when i get home but idon't think so. This is the way it was shown in the ebay listing aswell but there wasnt any info on it. I figured it was a dual compound type setup where you get the streetability of paper with a little added grip. Ill try running the part number again and post it here when i get home

Just note the orientation and number of clutch plates when taking the old ones out IIRC the last two or so facing outward slot in offset to the majority of plates.
The kit probably supplies an extra one or two plates as other models it fits might have different no. of plates.

this is the description given on ebay for the item
*You are bidding on new Ferodo FCD Clutch Plates designed to fit the 97-03 Honda VTR 1000 F Firestorm. According to the 2007 Motorcycle Stuff catalog it will also fit the 97-00 Honda CB 1300 DCV/DCW/WCX/DCY (SC38). All the information we have is based on Motorcycle Stuff's 2007 catalog, as far as we know this will not fit any other models or years. Please read our terms listed below and bid accordingly. **We received this in a dealer buy out and all of the information we have on it is listed here. The first picture shows the clutch plates. The kit consist of 10 fiber plates. Please note that in the Motorcycle Stuff catalog the manufacturer describes these clutch plates as being made with "paper friction" material, racing friction material and standard material plates. Please read their description below. Some kits have only one type of fiber material and some kits have a couple of different types of fiber materials with different types of grooves depending on the application. We have tried to show the different types of plates, for your application, by seperating them in our pictures. This is everything that is included in the package. In the second picture you can see the Motorcycle Stuff listing, from the 2007 catalog, which shows the application for the model and year. We could not show you every year and model application listed above in our picture. In the third picture you can see the Motorcycle Stuff listing, from the 2007 catalog, with Ferodo's part number FCD 0190/1, Motorcycle Stuff's part number 455-0208, and the 2007 Motorcycle Stuff catalog retail price. (All of this info is on one line in the catalog but we could not get it all in one picture.) The fourth picture shows the Motorcycle Stuff part number on the label on the package. The fifth picture shows Ferodo's part number on the package. If you need to do any further research on this part yourself, You can also check the Ferodo web site (Ferodo UK - the first name in brakes and friction products), however, we could not find an application chart or anything else useful on this site. Consider all of this before bidding.
**According to the Motorcycle Stuff Catalog, information on the Ferodo Clutch Product is, as follows;
****Ferodo FCD Friction Plate Sets -
The perfect replacement for Original Equipment clutch plates. Due to the "paper friction" material used, these plate sets have unique characteristics and outstanding performance, even under difficult conditions. The material contains no cork or rubber, which means that these plates do not suffer from slickness or slip, and have predictable performance. Kits with racing friction material have a /1 suffix at the end of the manufacturer's part number, while the standard material plate kits have no suffix. Kits include a complete 'engine set' of friction plates only.
**What you see in the pictures is what you will receive. Aside from the clutch plates there is nothing included with this at all. You will need to provide anything else required to mount this, separately.
**These clutch plates are new and in great shape. Please keep all of this in mind when bidding.
**According to the 2007 Motorcycle Stuff catalog this sells for $101.95. It has probably gone up in price since last year. Our starting price is well below that price.
