My thinking on this when I did it, I was in a warm climate(San Diego) and the air temp plus the added temp of the coolant ment I was sending hot air in with the gas to burn. Cool air is better, so I rerouted the lines.
I could be wrong though on my thinking

ya i read that it just for keeping the gas from iceing. i didnt know if it was for preheating the gas to atomize it better
on another note should i rerun a line to conect the 2 cooleant ports as the guy that did it jamed a bolt down the tube and clamped it off not leaking. i dont know if this bike has a pea hole on the tstat or if this acted as the pea hole. the bike dosent run hot or anything just want to make the bike work the best for a long time to come and not rig any thing.

I took the inlet hose(#1) off one carb and found where the outlet on the other was and traced it to the engine(#2). Connected hose between 1&2.
By the way, if your gas is icing up you have water in your gas. What happens in cold weather the moisture in the air is flowing through the carb at a good rate. It's that water that's in the air that'll freeze up in a carb.
