2000 Superhawk - battery drains / bike stalls
Hi --- sorry but seems to be a common problem and there are so many posts to scroll through --- accept my apology for being lazy? LOL
Just recently my battery died. Left a friend's house, got gas and when I got back on it wouldn't start. I push started it and rode home w/o a problem. Thought that it was just the battery because I didn't have it on a tender - only charged it up at the beginning of this season. So I bought a new battery, put it in and it started right up. Rode it that day but when I went to ride it the next morning, the battery was dead again. Thought I would charge it up to try and see what the problem was. So charged it, rode it a bit then noticed my odometer was blank. Shortly thereafter it sputtered a couple times and then stalled. I pushed it home the rest of the way. Charged the battery and it started. Now I need to diagnose and fix it. Any ideas?

Usual suspect: OEM regulator / rectumfrier

Confirm by checking charge voltage when running at idle and about 3000 RPMs.
The symptoms you listed do point do a failed regulator rectifier which is kind of common . Confirm, repair or upgrade and go ride

Shameless plug...E. Marquez's RR upgrade is the way to go. Plug and play.
Michael Semick, give a shout here or at https://www.facebook.com/WeBuildAdventure if I can help.
