Sorry to hear that. Glad you didn't get hurt too bad. Mountainbike knee/shinguards...I have bought nice ones used off ebay for less than $40 and they have saved me from peeling my kneecap off. They fit great under pants and also do a great job of blocking the wind when it's cold out. Wear 'em once or twice and you'll forget they're even there and will feel naked without them (and the rest of your gear).

Glad you are not badly injured. Looks like your frame slider took the the brunt of the
damage. Cold tires can be precarious for sure. Lever/barend and a scuff on the muff
easily taken care of. Heal up (you and the bike) and Ride Well.

Aloha, Glad to hear you are back in the saddle. Take it slow and steady.
Its 69 degrees today and I am Off. Slightly overcast and wet but plan to take the
Superhawk out. She(Red S/H) keeps giving me the eye riding the VFR(white) so much.
I haven't ridden her for a few months now. It will be good to be back on her again-miss
the torque and comfort. Ride Well...

Good youre ok. You need to adjust your mentality for the winter/ cold riding. You kinda gotta ride like its wet. I have ridden whole winters on race take-offs. Now those are bowling ball.
Heck I have roadraced when its 38 and snowing. (I dont recommend it). Just be smooth and gentle and it no problem.

The heat from a trackday? No. What tires are they? I was talking about DOT race tires which are designed for use only at hight temps. If you are using street tires then you should be ok but sport touring tires have more silica for rain & cold grip.
